I took my daughter last night to her first race of the year and about had a heart attack when I saw they were charging $15 for her to get in. Kids 6-12 were $15, really. I thought they were trying to have this be a family sport. This is out of line in my opinion. What does every body else think?

The Outlaws don't set the ticket prices so your beef is with Knoxville. When going to an outlaw show I would recommend checking ticket prices before you go as every track charges different and has different rules for kids prices.

Ok while I see your point 15 dollars is a lot if you were doing this on a regular basis. But its the outlaws a little different than a weekly show you wouldnt think twice about paying twice or three times as much to see the jonas brothers or whoever
her favorite act is .I took my kid to the movie last night guess what when it was all said and done 20 bucks on my son alone on ticket drinks popcorn and snack.I know your upset I only hope when you look back on your daughters first outlaw race your memory is the event not that you had to pay what you would to see a movie.

Looks like to me for $30 last night you got to see 2 b-features and the A main for the WoO and 2 heats and the feature for the what 15 cars that were masters. What a deal?? If I were to go to this I would expect to see time trials and heats and a mains. 38 cars in the pits and you get to see 3 races. So whats tonight--- the 360`s full show and the WoO a main. For gosh sakes give the fans a show.

ya Knoxville sets the prices. But when u have the Outlaws plus the Knoxville regulars mixed with a few of the Posse members, u should probably expect to pay anywhere from $10-$15. I have herd of ticket prices being more than that for a WoO show at another track.
I'd rather be in Knoxville.

That's why Knoxville and also Nascar races are not full .... I know the economy is down but they would get more people and in turn more money if they lower the ticket prices especially for children .... Just my 2 cents worth .... Lots of things to compete with for your entertainment dollars ....

What are you a cheap sweed from mn?
Take her to a movie ane see what spend.
I would spend what ever they want for a ticket.
So maybe the race teems could have a bigger pay day!

Consider yourselves lucky:
WoO shows on the west coast are all between $35 and $40. No breaks for kids.

It was so stupid to go last night, they charged you a boat load for a crappy show last night. A smart person waits until tonight to get your moneys worth.
Knoxville keeps jacking up there ticket prices and its stupid, the attendance has been horrible this year and they need to do something about it!

Thats about the average price WoO or USAC. Maybe calling or looking online ahead of time would have helped make a decision on wanting to pay the price or not.

I agree rcmkm, 15 dollars is a bargin. The total purse for the A feature last night alone was over 46000 dollars alone. That doesn't count the non qaulifers and the masters race. Yes the track and woo gets helps with sponsor money, but I am pretty sure it doesn't cover the whole purse and all the other bills.
I hope you don't take your daugther a Justin Bieber concert like I am. 50 bucks a ticket at the Qwest Center for a upper level to watch some kids to run around and lip sync. That doesnt include the 10-15 dollars to park, and the 6 dollars pop and hot dogs.

Last night was an interesting concept (inverted field) but didn't seem like it worked like they might have wished. Getting only 15 cars for the Masters race sort of defeated the purpose of having a A and B Main only WoO show.

EXACTLY WHY I COULD NOT AFFORD TO GO TO JACKSON MY 2 BOYS AND ME WOULD HAVE BEEN WHAT 65 BUCKS I THINK. THEN WE WOULD OF HAD TO EAT AND STUFF.
I DROVE 45 MILES OVER TO JACKSON JUST SO THE BOYS COULD SEE THE CARS AND HAULERS, THEY GOT TO TO DONNY SCHATZ, AND ONE OF THE GUYS WATCHING THE GATES BY DIANES TRAILER LET US IN SO WE COULD VISIT WITH HER FOR A FEW MINUTES, I GOT THEM A EACH A BARGIN RACK T-SHIT AND DIANE THREW IN SOME STICKERS FOR THEM.
THEY KNEW DAD COULD NOT AFFORD TO TAKE THEM TO THE RACES. BUT AT LEAST THEY GOT TO SEE WHAT THEY SAW. 2 LONG FACES AND DAD'S WAS LONGER FROM FEELING GUILTY. BUT I DID THE BEST I COULD FOR MY BOYS.

Weekly dirt track racing in general is over priced and the WoO is the biggest rip off there is. The only WoO shows that I have been to in the last 4 years are ones I have gotten free tickets for and even then I feel I have over paid for the event.
All a WoO show is worth is $20 and a weekly event is barely worth $8 these days. Dirt track racing is right up there with the WNBA these days... Totally irrelevant.

This isn't just racing, and it isn't that sanctioning bodies, leagues, whatever are charging more....your dollar just isn't worth much, and it's only going to get worse as long as the country is printing money and giving it away. I'm not trying to sound smart, but I did get my degree in finance and economics and anyone could see this. $30 bad for the outlaws? Hell, we just dropped our Penn State college football tickets because they were over $75!!!! a ticket when you counted the fees(no discounts for kids). Thats college sports, where you don't even pay the participants and they have TV deals worth millions. Next, have you watched TV? Have you seen a commercial saying "call this lawyer, about this medicine, or call this lawyer about that?. The fear of being sued these days is through the roof for property owners, people love a good settlement. It cost's a LOT of money just to insure these events, and the cost keeps getting passed on. The problem your complaining about goes much further than tracks charging to much. Frankly, I'd pay racers before anyone else for my dollar, these guys are doing more than entertaining you, their RISKING THEIR LIVES to entertain you and feed their families at the same time. Hell, MOST of these guys lose money just to entertain us. My only hope is that a substantial part of my ticket is going back in their pocket.
