Glad to see he won last night. Second win for him this year.
Schatz had a big charge starting way back and finishing 5th (I think).
Be safe today....

Ditto on that... Hard to find a harder working duo than that of Jason and Doug.. include Stevie and Mikey in that group as well... Just hate Finchy wasn't there for the win... Maybe an Oshweken backup? Knoxville?
Shatz did make a good charge.. Great to listen to a non-stop race for a change as well. Thanks to Johnny for making me "see" the race...

It`s always good to see Sides get a win! Was there any explanation given as to why the A main was shortened to 25 laps instead of it`s scheduled 30? Just wondering.

Almost impossible to find a more deserving "team" than the Sides duo, that's for sure.
We got home just in time for me to fire up the 'puter and listen to the A Main. I could hardly have been more thrilled with the eventual finishing order.
Tightened up the points race, no one was hurt...great night in the WoO!!
I am lucky enough to work at one of the best tracks
anywhere.

The "rumor" was both Steve and Donny were low on fuel!

Piehole...it was determined by the officials before the race per Johnny Gibson.

My question still is... why? Anyone know why? If I had paid for the advertised "30 lap A main" ($35.00) I`d want to know the reason why it was reduced to 25 laps. Seems only fair, Right?

The race distance wasn't cut--it was never scheduled for 30 to begin with.

Per Tri City Speedway`s website:
"In 2010, Memorial Day Weekend will feature the biggest race in the history of Tri-City Speedway as the World of Outlaws Sprint Series makes its first-ever appearance at the Venango County half-mile oval. Featuring winged Super Sprints at incredible speeds, these professional racers will offer race fans awesome and jaw-dropping action on one of the fastest tracks they will race on all season. The event will be the richest Super Sprint race in track history with $10,000 paid to the winner of the 30-lap affair."
Not doubting you Johnny, but that`s what they posted!

Interesting. I know WoO officials were not aware of that.

What?

I was referring to that knucklehead openwheeler for his wise crack about Steve and Donny.
I believe I heard JG announce that the officials determined to make the race 25 laps instead of 30 or something to that affect. I guess I was mistaken and deleted my post. .

I just found my answer:
Last night at 6:15 p.m., I learned for the first time that the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series would run a 25-lap A Main, rather than a 30-lap A Main. The contract between the series and the track allows the series to dictate the number of laps run.
Speaking with Series Director Carlton Reimers after the race last night, I learned that the series officials were concerned about the performance of the Goodyear Tires at Tri-City Speedway. Apparently, series officials were advised by an unknown source that the track will sometimes take rubber. Having been so advised, series officials became concerned that excessive wear could hurt tire performance, which could then affect team and driver performance. Thus, series officials unilaterally decided only a few days before May 30th that the race would run for 25 laps, instead of the originally scheduled 30 laps. Afterwards, Reimers commented in retrospect that the race could have gove 30 laps because the tire wear was minimal. The series' next visit to Tri-City should be a 30-lap race.
On behalf of Tri-City Speedway, I would like all the fans, teams and drivers that finally made a dream come true to bring the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series to Tri-City. The race was a success, and I hope it leads to more World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series races at Tri-City.

I still think my answer was more correct, Rail!
BTW, what's with the "knucklehead" garbage?
