I had heard that DD was on the hot seat early last week. You add Kohler to the mix and would have to think it's bound to happen.

That would be a kick in the balls to Danny if that happened. He built that team from the ground up for Gary Kauffman. I'm sure the crew would go along if Danny leaves/is fired

Thanks Cubic. You are a great asset to this board.
Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

Switching chassis is just an excuse for not being able to set up a race car. Any crew chief worth having can make any car go. The crew chief just may be the problem? Good luck maybe we will get to see the hammer that used to be exciting to watch

Well switching to a Maxim seems to be be the norm over the past few years in Central Pa.. If you are not running well, just switch to a Maxim and all your problems and troubles will go away ( Ha Ha)

I think the team currently runs Cappetta engines ( like Jac Haudenschild & Brian Leppo), so unless they are switching to Otts along with the new Maxims, they are running a slightly different combination. But yea, I get your point!!!

Esh is a chauffeur in the Haudenschild sense, which is probably why he and dink had success together. He's a gasser, give him something to drive and he will drive the wheels off of it. Don't and he'll blister the tires off of it...lol. Rahmer is a surgeon behind the wheel and even he had to switch to Maxim to get going. Four time WoO champion also struggling. Saldana, Kinser and Sides all looking good. Vegas money says Maxim is a safe choice right now.

Trone gets his engines from Cappetta and Cappetta only. When the deal was made, if Esh was bringing any Ott engines, they were going to Cappetta from there on out anway. There is also another WoO team that occasionally runs a Cappetta as well. I'm not in good enough or affiliated with anyone it's not my business to say who...but I do know the last one that went out was hittin 920...

920 and still half a second off Mopar's 11 year old Hagerstown track record? Doubt it.

This was a throw together team.
Trone wanted a better team so he teamed up with the Leaches who were looking to scale back
Trone had an old Cappetta motor he bought off Darrah
Leaches had Donn Ott motors
all were of some age
Kinards brought the truck and trailer
breaking up meant the whole team as a team would be broke up and fancied no one so they decided to rework the deal so all benifited
Darrah ran Cappetta motors and probaly will when he comes back next month

Thanks for the clarification. I forgot a few pieces of the story. I do believe the team did run the Leaches' Ott engines a few times during the first year, but have been exclusive to Cappetta since.

Interesting, the car/driver I'm refering to hasn't run at Hagerstown in years...and I just came from the Selinsgrove 410 race, where they timed a 1/2 second slowed then the 358s ran twice earlier this year. That's a 358 with a 10.8:1 compression ratio vs and otherwise unlimited 410 (not to mention you could argue that the 410 drivers are slightly more experienced), so maybe there's more to a time then just a hp number?
Put the tires that Mopar had on it 11 years ago and see what happens to that time....
