Just wondering if any PA POSSE regulars will drop their crutches and glue sticks and sack it up and run with the BADASS BOYS of USAC???????

A few, but doubtful any of the big dogs...last time Rahmer parked it after hotlaps and he was the one of the few to give it a try. Hopefully Pauch and Buckwalter run.
They don't even know how to spell sprint car

I read somewhere that the Zemco sprinter that pauch drove Was Sold. He doesn't have a ride. And I love to see Steve get a ride for the eastern swing

Zemco sprinter was sold to PA young guy, Brent Marks (19m).
I think they said he will run some of the USAC shows on the Eastern Swing.

Awww, geez. Not another winged vs. wingless debate on here. The argument works both ways. If the winged guys are too scared to race without "a crutch," how come the wingless guys didn't borrow or buy a wing to race at the Grove two years ago when USAC was in the area but not racing anywhere on Friday night? I say that mostly tongue in cheek, since the wingless fans on here always claim local winged racers are too scared to race with USAC. The only USAC racer that ran the Grove that night was Jesse Hocket, who also has a ton of winged Sprint Car experience.
I can enjoy winged or non-wing racing equally, but the wingless fans and their lines about "crutches" and drivers being "too scared" to race wingless just looks silly in light of the success some winged drivers have had in rare non-wing starts.

You miss the point, The wings mask the talent. It becomes all motor and starting position too much of the time. The ONLY thing that makes the PA wing scene worth watching at all is the big inversions. Look how much better the ARDC is now that they are exclusively wingless.

Again, it is just two different types of racing. I don't think any less of the winged guys that don't race with USAC than I do the USAC guys that don't race winged shows. This might be blasphemy to some people on here from outside the Northeast, but the best short track racer I have ever seen is Billy Pauch because no modern driver short of Tony Stewart has won in as many different headline divisions as Pauch has. But the guys that can do what Pauch or even a Tim McCreadie can do in different divisions are few and far between.

I guess it's something to talk about and rib the other over but I can't see the arguement between lids or not. Both put on great shows, sometimes they're follow the leader. Two differnet elements of a great sport. I love non wing but if Haud or Sammy ran USAC they'd eat their lunch the majority of the time. Moper Million, Haud won and was no suprise but Steve Smith worked through the best of non-wing drivers and came home 2nd in only his second time with out a "crutch". A few years back Sammy spanked them at Knoxville. The last time Dave Darland or Levi Jones won against the best winged drivers was......

esh took it out of park testing wingless last year, didn't make it through one corner, doubt it will happen...lol.

Sammy said a long time ago when asked if he preferred wing vs. non-wing something like, "I'll drive them any way I have to."
He also said, "I don't see the non-wing guys putting a wing on and beating us".
Me, I like them both ways.

Right, and that is why I said it was tongue in cheek when I ask why the wingless guys don't put on a wing rather than sit idle when there is winged racing in the area. Sorta proves the point that winged vs. wingless isn't as simple as just taking off or putting on a wing.

As Sammy said..... non-wing guys don't win wing races. Wing guys DO win non-wing races.
If USAC paid any money how many wins would Sammy, Steve, and Jac have!

Give them about 25 years at the same couple tracks every week with no wing and they will be right in the hunt!
Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

And Dewease ran second in the Dyer No. 461. If that wasn't his first career wingless start, it was one of very few.

I'm sure if Darland or Levi grew up racing with the crutch, and took the same path as one of the Outlaws (excepting maybe Steve, Sammy or Wolfie) drivers, say like Jason Sides, T Mac, Kemendah, Kraig Kinser, etc. and the one of the previous drivers ran real sprints in Indiana, your last sentence would read.
The last time Jason Sides, T Mac, Kemendah, Kraig Kinser won against the best winged drivers was....
It might take a little time to become used to a different driving style, but a talented driver like Darland (who ran mostly winged in his ealry career) and L Jones would adapt in due time. There are probably about 10,000 experienced Winged drivers through out the USA who could not beat the Outlaws either. It's experience over many years, and now a days its more about Money, that would make a good winged driver.
other than that, wings are probably the worst thing to happen to dirt racing.
