I'd like to be able to see Saturday's A main ... without costing me a fortune to stay an extra night.

I think you need to go back to school and learn some English lessons! Unless you are only in elementary school?

i would have to agree with rcmkm i think there should be some kind of special activities or events because it is the 50th, i would also like good racing and a different winner.

Man, this place has really gone down hill. A guy (rcmkm) make a legitimate post and gets gang tackled by the resident grammar police and ass clowns. I remember about 13 or so years ago when we used to have some fun times here.

I believe that Knoxville is working on getting previous winners in. I hope that isn't supposed to be a secret. No one needs a rock band, etc.... let's stick to racing. I'm sure Knoxville is on top of doing some special things - and I hope it won't interfere too much with the racing program itself.
I still wish they'd run the 50 laps without a planned fuel stop. Put the big tails/fuel tanks back on and race. Of course if they have a bunch of yellow flags I guess they'd have to alter that idea. (aka Pocola/Ft. Smith WoO)
On the other hand - to be sentimental and historic - they might want to hire a streaker to run from Corner #1 back to #4 - and then not open the gate to let him out. Ahhh - the memories. Might even bring the Wheel of Fortune back.
But I digress....

There's still 2 1/2 months before the Nationals. Just because there haven't been any announcments yet doesn't mean things aren't scheduled or in the works. I understand wanting to know early (believe me, I'm that way too) but patience is a virtue, grasshopper.

I was thinking the "school bus" rides on Friday nights! Best when Karl came on board as the driver!

To me, the loyal lifetime sprint car fan... if 100 410s at the most prestigious race of the year at a classic 1/2 mile fairgrounds oval eaten up with the sport isn't enough to entertain me for 4 nights then I need to go to a different race somewhere.
To the casual fan, that may be a bit much racing. Some other opportunities for entertainment might work.
To the "I'm here with my husband but not that into racing" fan... the request for different entertainment is completely logical.
Me, I think the biggest race of the sprint car year doesn't need to be jacked with. Keep it simple and pure and basically keep it exactly how it is.
Indy 500, Daytona 500... pretty much any big race strives to be "an event" with pre race concerts and a lot of "non racing" stuff. For that reason I see absolutely nothing wrong with trying to fill out that remaining 1/4 to 1/8 of the stands that don't seem to be filled lately even at the best races.
A little more production, a little more "showbiz"... watch the PBR and Xgames and Motocross and see what they're doing that puts tailbones in seats. Why reinvent the wheel when a perfectly good one is rolling just fine?
Smart people learn from their mistakes. WISE people learn from the mistakes of others. Take some elements from other sporting events and integtrate them into ALL of sprint car racing, not just the premier event.
The straightforward "just sprint cars" approach to promotion might work at some locales... but I think the promoters lost the audience here in DFW, like many other places, and need to improve the show. A simple racing program has way too many entertainment options to compete with anymore. Spice it up.

Sure don't want a bunch of NASCAR guys racing. It's about sprints, always has been and will be.

here is an idea - schedule the hoopla to stall for time UNTIL the sun goes down in order to SAVE THE TRACK!
Lincoln 1845 ft/.35 mile T1=118MPH
Eldora 2287 ft/.43mile T3=135MPH
Port 2716 ft/.51 mile T3=TBD
Grove 2792 ft/.53 mile T3=135MPH
Selinsgrove 2847 ft/.54 mile T1=136MPH

As long as the invert for the heats goes back up to a total invert of 10, this race doesn't need anything more. Make the heats 12 laps if you have to in order to get the total invert back, please.

What? You want to go to the biggest sprint car race of the year and you want to see a concert or NASCAR drivers racing. I don't understand that. I understand the concept of wanting to make it different or special. But what I'd like to see is the next big concert I go to have a sprint car race. That would be awesome!

Wow guys is all I said is there missing a great chance to promote this race do something different i'm not talking about nickleback playing you jack ass curb records has ties with sprint car racing have one of there up and coming acts proform.I do not care about nascar guys racing either but your missing the point.I am not a huge nascar fan by any means but say what you want about those guys but the reason there sport is so popular is the know how to promote it we just sit on our hands and go watch races better races I might add in case you have not noticed sprint car racing is in trouble in more ways than one next time your at your local track look at the age bracket mostly 40 and over with car counts on the decline maybe we need to nothing but you can only coast going downhill and I sure as hell do not want to see our sport die.
