Schneiderman Flirts with a Top Five

(West Burlington, IA 5/15/2010) - Josh Schneiderman and the Deuce Motorsports #49 were back in action at the Knoxville Raceway this past Saturday night. Little brother Jarrod had also loaded his #88 mount into the trailer and made his 360 debut at the Knoxville Raceway. The I Wireless, Liberty Transport #49 would hit the track first in qualifying and lay down a lap of 16.280 good enough for 4th quick. "The track got black slick extremely early, which fooled us with the amount of rain we had," commented Josh, "The crew did an excellent job though making sure the car was ready for the track conditions and we laid down a very good lap."

The Morning Sun Farm Implement, Engler Machine, AMP Energy mount would start 5th in the first heat race. Josh would make his way to 4th and after a lap 2 caution, he would challenge for the 3rd spot. After some slicing and dicing the Ideal Ready Mix, J&J Auto Racing #49 would take the checkers in the 5th spot. "We had a great start to the heat race, but I was trying to run the bottom and stayed on it a little too long and a few cars got back by us on the cushion," commented the 22 year old UNI student, "The most important thing was we learned a few things and still made the transfer into the A-Main."

On a rubber down surface, Josh's Automotive Machine, ButlerBuilt, Hephner Racing Products #49 would start the A-Main in the 7th position. From the drop of the green flag Josh and his Weld Racing, CARQUEST Auto Parts, Willison Trucking sprinter was extremely fast, but a quick caution would relegate the ground he had made up on the leaders. After bidding his time Josh would fight his way back to the 6th position, finishing with another solid well deserved top ten. "I'm extremely proud of the way our team is gelling right now," commented the 3rd year 410 driver, "I was a little upset in the feature because I felt like they (Knoxville) put a car back in front of us after the caution that wasn't supposed to be there, but we were able to keep fighting and earned a very solid finish on a one lane racetrack. We are getting the right pieces in the right places and I think we are right where we need to be this early in the season."

Jarrod and his #88 Bobby Jacks powered Engler Injected J&J had a solid night for his first time out with a brand new motor. In hot laps he was able to feel out his J&J Steel, Shottenkirk Parts Express, Hephner Racing Products sprinter and begin to make some very impressive laps. In the heat race he raced pass 3 cars on his way to a 6th place finish, running the bottom of the racetrack like a seasoned veteran. In the B-Main he was headed to the front after starting 16th. His I Wireless, Zaiser Landscaping, Blackbird Motorsports ride was working on the 10th place car when Jarrod pulled his machine to the infield with a motor issue.

He has looked really fast at times this year. His qualifying has been smooth. I don't think it is out of line to suggest a win is possible this year from him at Knoxville.
