No surprise at all. I assume all area/regional tracks will be cancelled for Friday night with the weather the way it is. We'll have to see how many are able to race on Saturday night, as it is predicted to be unseasonably chilly. No reschedule date has been announced for the May 7 cancellation.
Hopefully the weather will straighten back out by Memorial weekend when the UMSS returns to action for a double-header at Kopellah on Friday May 28 and Arlington on May 29. This will give some of the teams who were not ready back in April ample time to be ready to rumble in a couple of weeks! Once we really get underway, I think the UMSS will have plenty of racing to satisfy drivers and fans. The April 30 show at Kopellah was rescheduled to June 4 with $1,000 to win to match up well with the Kouba Memorial at Brainerd the following night June 5. It doesn't look like the Billy Anderson Memorial will be rescheduled at CLS, but the race will be run possibly at another area track depending on circumstances. The May 7 Kopellah cancellation will likely not be made up. It's Mother Nature 3, UMSS 1 so far this season with at least one race rescheduled. A tough start weather-wise, but such is life in the early part of the racing season on many occasions. Last year the UMSS was fortunate to only suffer two weather-related cancellations, so maybe we've got those out of the way early on this season.

Just a quick update on the Micro Sprint League race that also fell victim to the weather with the May 7 cancellation. Ron B told me that event will be rescheduled for Friday night May 21 at Kopellah. The UMSS show will not be rescheduled, but the Micro Sprint League debut will now happen on May 21. One of the primary reasons the UMSS did not reschedule for May 21 is that Jackson has their Spring Sprint Car Nationals that night plus the UMSS will return the following Friday May 28 at Kopellah to kick off a run of three straight Friday nights there (May 28, June 4, and June 11).
