The UPDATED VRA Sprint Car Points will be released soon. It will take some time to get the correct points standings, given that some of the racers from Bakersfield will not earn VRA points.

The Bandit Sprints have the same problem. The VRA regulars (and others) will NOT earn Bandit Points.

When we get the information, it will be posted.

Thanks to all the VRA, Bandit and other drivers, crews, fans and Scott Sweitzer and the Bakersfield Speedway crew who helped to make last night's event at Bakersfield Speedway a great opening to the 2007 VRA/Bandit Grand Slam Series. Thanks also to my VRA Tech Director Keith Porter, VRA scoring crew headed by Scott Holder with help by Carmen Sweeney and Cindy Addison and Bandit Director Pete Curto for their help and efforts. The heats were excellent, the Semi Main tough and the feature was a little dusty, but the competition was top notch al night between the 33 competitors and 22 Main Event starters. The finish between Greg Taylor, Jesse Mack, Davey Pombo, Josh Ford and Peter Murphy kept the fans on the edge of their seats. Excellent drives were also made by five up and coming youngsters Michael Trimble who finished 6th, Brandon Thomson who finished 7th, Johnathan Henry who finished 9th, John Nock who finished 10th and Heidi Tressler who finished 14th. We are now looking forward to the next Slam event set for Santa Maria Speedway July 28.

Other upcoming events in the series are October 13 at Santa Maria and the finale at Ventura Raceway on October 27.

Thanks Also to Mike Sweeney for his help and direction of the Junior Dwarf Car event and Dwarf Car event held last night as a part of the Slam Event.

See you at Santa Maria, Cliff Morgan VRA Director of Competition

Hi Renee, I'm OK and yes it was very hard hit also my very first flip and my first red since I first started in 2003. I was begaining to wonder when it will happen.(LOL). I had the transfered spot for awhile in the heat race until #35D got into me but we both recoved kept going and so I backed off and played it safe to finish undamage. Now for the semi WOW! Too many restart and confusion going on so I just waited for the right oppertunity to pass 2-3 cars at the same time to get the tranfer spot after turn 4 on the front stretch on the last lap I never let up I was going for the sweep on turn 1 and 2 high side but just before I got the there the right rear got loose went sideways and had no more room(LOL) rr hit wall and I went airborn flipping. WOW! what a ride but it didn't phase me at all just a sprang right hand thats all happen to me. Now my car is in bad shape all the suspension are gone, a broken rear end and wheels, ouch my wallet I'm on a tight budget. I will be back and try get the car done for April 28 to start the SMS Bandit season. Thanks for the people that help me and advised to get me back. Thank You fans and Bakerfield speedway for leting us race there. See you next year!

It was a fun day and I loved it.

Charles

Bandit #9
