If track management is trying to get the track shut down, they're sure going about it the right way.

I guess no one at Antioch knows how to prepare a track...but it's not just Antioch...

Hmmm... I thought the track was pretty good. There were some serious questions during wheel packing and before BK had a chance to ask Dan Belton to do something about it (which he did), Soares was already firing up the water truck. Gary told me he thought the track might go away and I said if it did, it would be back by main event time. I don't think it ever went away though. The track stayed hooked up and lots of guys were having trouble keeping the front end down. Willie Croft slammed his back to earth so many times I still can't believe that front end didn't give up.

A little bit of a rut (more of a hole really) showed up in turn one after the dash, but over all it was a good track. There was no inside berm and the big tires were way too far in the infield. It wasn't until the main that BK and Day moved to the dry stuff on the inside of turn one that the cloud started. I think the reason they went down there was because it was so much of a shorter distance. I had heard over the radio that they were going to move those tires out, but that never happened. That was a problem and I think Jason Botsford paid dearly for that. The rookie took a big hit in the points.

Speaking of "big hit", PaceTruck Chuck's Pace Truck took a chuck... to the windshield! Something came off the track during the main while we were sitting in the infield. Gashed it pretty good! Thanks for the ride Chuck.

Thank you to Joseph and Amanda for the tri-tip sandwich, great to see you guys again. I miss the Koi.

Missed ya YZ.

Got to talk to (Not so) Little Stu for a while, that kid's bigger than you Al!

Meeting Ryan Riley was pretty cool... learned he lives in my town!

Got to spend a little time with Ronnie Day, Al & Jenette Peterson, Randy V... Ah, it was good to be back at the track.

Wimmer moved to the middle of the track for the green white checker finish and passed at least 4 cars.... if he had found that groove sooner, he would have run away with the win. The track could have been much worse (aka i've seen it much worse!), but the water truck needs to give that infield a squirt next time. I just love having GSC so close to home(concord), and i too would pay $15 to watch a sprintcar sit still.

Glad ya made it out there Top. Good to see you beforehand and thanks for the directions. It was just under two hours to Placerville.

Very cold. Plenty of yellows, but a great night to be there.

John, Chuck, and I were shut out in the raffles but Cindy won a couple of hotwheels and two gift certificates for In N Out.

Cashwash- I am glad you were able to go to Placerville and be a part of a memorable night. Since I didn't go to Placerville I sent the family a card and some money and I think it is awesome that they raised over $11,000. Now Cindy can take us all out to In N Out and we can play with the hot wheels cars, he he! I hope you end up going to Watsonville next weekend for the GSC race. I plan on going to Marysville sometime for a Civil War race late in the season when there are no more GSC races.

I had a good time at Antioch and I think the track was pretty good considering what it has been like in the past. I enjoyed the RACEO (BINGO) game that came with the special GSC program because I won and I have a free ticket for any race and food next time to come to Antioch in July. I think the announcer was pretty energetic and the races were run in a pretty timely matter. I think the racing was done by 10:30 even with a large amount of dwarf cars, which put on a pretty entertaining show. Sure, may improvements are needed and for some reason they decided to charge GT for getting into the pits, which isn't right, but I am hoping things only improve for when they come back in July.

BK is really on a roll lately and for once he isn't the one involved in controversy, he he! He is also going to be tough to beat next week at Ocean Speedway since he has also been winning races there in the new 360 series.

Looking forward to the new Golden State King of the
West series schedule!

I did not know that they charged GT to get in the pits.

The guy does so much for GSC and here some of the "promoters" charge him to do it. That's messed up! Are they so tight with the dollar that they don't see the big picture?

Who's the one that gets the word out about the races on the net? Who is it that writes the stories for National Speed Sport News?

Yes, Gary is a friend. But it wouldn't matter who the heck is doing it, the person doing PR for the series should NOT have to pay to get in to the races!

I saw Gary`s name on the list to get in. It was right above my name. You had to sign in with the security guard who was standing right at the gate.

That's weird. The security guard in Antioch said that my name was not on any list.

I was with GT when he was trying to get in and they looked and said sorry you are not on here???

but I have one good thing to say.. I left a message for the Antioch speedway to see if Hoserville could bring candy in to hand out to the kids and no one called me back? but when I got there I went to the security guards (with GT) and asked if they could radio John Sores so they did and he said no problem?? can you believe that!!!! I was not sure what he would say because I know in the past I could not even bring a baby bottle in??

but anyways it was a good night for me..
