OCRS SEASON FIRES OFF FRIDAY @ OUTLAW!

Tulsa, Oklahoma (April 12, 2010) – The exciting and always entertaining winged sprint cars of Oil Capital Racing Series fires off for the first time for the 2010 racing season this Friday night, April 16th at the Outlaw Motor Speedway in Oktaha, Oklahoma in the 2010 running of the "Spring Fling".

"Outlaw Motor Speedway and OCRS have teamed up to produce some great racing action the past few seasons and we are excited that we (OCRS) are opening our 2010 season at their grand facility" commented co-promoter Barry Grabel. "Outlaw's semi banked 3/8's mile track is one of the fastest tracks we race at" said Grabel. "Their sweeping corners allow for our racing teams to keep up their momentum thus producing some of the quickest lap times we will see all season." Grabel went on to say: "My partner Tom Sewell and I have been waiting all winter for this moment and we are excited that the time to roll up our sleeves and get to work is here."

A full field of cars is expected for the 2010 opener including 2 time defending champion Jamie Passmore of Rose, Oklahoma. While many have Passmore as a likely choice to "three peat" in his #4 G.A.P. Roofing chariot, several are looking at Sand Springs' Danny Smith to gather his first title of the series. Smith came close in 2009 earning the runner-up spot in the race for the 2009 championship. Smith returns in his Same Day Auto Repair number 5$ mount. Tulsa's Mike Goodman is another solid threat to garner the title in 2010 as well. Goodman missed a few events in 2009 while looking to change race teams a few events into last year's title run. With his ride set for the 2010 season in the 4am Premier Homes machine, Goodman will be a threat. Rafe Essary from Stillwell will keep the pressure on his peers for his own quest for the championship in his self sponsored #26 sprinter. Essary capped off last years finale with a victory in the 44th Enid Winter Nationals on his way to a third place title finish.

This year the ladies will take on the boys in OCRS competition. 16 year old Kacee Frazier of Tulsa and 17 year old Shayla Waddell of Oklahoma City have submitted their intentions to compete in the 2010 OCRS season. Waddell was a main event victor at State Fair Speedway in Oklahoma City last season while Frazier competed in a half dozen OCRS events in 2009.

The 2010 season is set for a 28-race slate in Oklahoma and Kansas. A total of 13 tracks are on tap for the OCRS warriors making OCRS the most traveled series in the state for sprint car racing. Drivers will be tested on their skill levels as they need to master the multiple conditions they will encounter throughout the year.

Brodix Cylinder Heads returns with Broken Arrow Lawn and Garden for the 2010 OCRS "Rookie of the year Challenge" As in 2009, a new set of Brodix cylinder heads will be awarded to the top rookie in OCRS competition for the season. Drivers who have submitted their 2010 "Rookie Of The Year" entries include: Terry Easum, Kacee Frazier, Michael Tyree, Travis Ashwood , Brady Demeree, Eren Pierce, Kirby Bedford and Perry Pickard.

Outlaw Motor Speedway is located 8 miles south of Muskogee and 11 miles north of Highway 40 on highway 69. Web site is: www.outlawmotorspeedway.com and the phone number is (918) 687-9200. Hot laps are set for 6:45pm with a drivers meeting immediately after. Racing begins at 7:30pm.
