In just three short weeks, Showdown in the Heartland II will be taking place featuring the MARS and NCRA late model series. Are you ready? Are you going?
It all kicks off on Thursday night, May 6th, at the home of NCRA, 81 Speedway in Park City, Kansas. From there it will be a new track on the schedule and a "first time ever" as the late models head to Creek County Speedway in Kellyville, Oklahoma for the tracks first time ever hosting a late model event. The quarter mile has gone through many a changes and this Friday night show should be a hoot.
Then on Saturday night it is down the Turner Turnpike to Meeker, Oklahoma and Brill Motor Speedway. The track hosted the late models for the first time ever in 2009 and some are saying the show was the best out of the then three race swing. Then on Sunday night it is the virtual "home" of MARS and Monett Speedway in Missouri for a Sunday night closer to Showdown in the Heartland.
Stay tuned to the NCRA website (www.ncraracing.org) and MARS website (www.dlra.net) and my website (www.oklahomatidbits.com) for more race information in the days and weeks to come.

The show at Brill's was a heck of one. The last lap spin by Terry Phillips was one for the books.
"The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands
in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he
stands at times of challenge and controversy."
Martin Luther King, Jr.
