Like a lot of die hard race fans that already had there Race night planned, the weather once again changed that real quick. The phone lines and web sites got busy just as quick. Before we found out that Brill's cancelled I called one in our group (James) and he said and I quote "Everybody needs to put their big boy panties on and go Racin".
With that said, 20min later after we all put layers on over our Big boy panties and the wife and daughter put their Big Girl panties on guess what they cancelled . The closest Sprint Cars that were running were at the bowl. So at 3:30 the decision was made to go to Devils Bowl (they all thought I was crazy) after going and picking everybody up we got there in time to watch so pretty good racing at 8:32. With the exception of 40mph wind straight out of the west in our faces and drive 3 1/2 hours to watch 2hrs and 15min of racing the trip was worth it.

LOL... #29 Travis Rilat won the 20 car field ASCS sprint feature. Followed by Erick Baldacinni,Kevin Ramey,Kolt Walker in 4th. #8 won the 16 car Late model feature, #00 won the15 car Street Stock Feature, #1* won the 20 car sport mod feature but DQ'd , And #01 won the15 car USA mod feature. Real good Racing in all classes. Sorry I don't know all the names but with 40mph wind in your face... ya know lol. And no the big boy panties did not get in the way...

On a serious note, you said Rilat won and a twenty car feature field, how many sprint cars were there total? Personally, I think Devils Bowl going to ASCS rules was a great decision and takes advantage when the series and one of its regional divisions have the weekend off. Not that the National deal should have been off this weekend as they would have been here at OKC.
What other ASCS "regulars" do you figure were at the Bowl? I think it has been a long time since the track had seen a full field of sprinters for a weekly show.

20 total - 3 heats 2 with 7 and one with 6. OKC Locals 7s- Robert Sellers,5 Brent Swift and 87 Marshella. Sellers went up in smoke while running in the top 10 and pulled off, Swift held is own and was running in the top 15 then pulled off. But Marshella was still running strong at the back but finished, and there is some improvement from last year he has just about got it figured out with no spin outs last night from the black and green #87. Yes IMO like we all said before going to ASCS weekly rules is the thing to do.

I would think there were 3or 4 other cars that run ASCS on a regular basis that were there. So I am thinking probably 12 to 13 ASCS locals will run at the Bowl on a weekly basis if not more. Which is only a guess on my part.
