I don't know about the rest of you guys but I am ready for the "Ocean Sprints presented by Taco Bravo" 2010 winged 360 sprint car racing series to get under way at Ocean Speedway in Watsonville, CA. The people I have been talking with are excited and optimistic about the series that is scheduled to begin it's fourth season on Fri April 2nd at the California facility located at the Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds. This will mark the maiden season for "Taco Bravo" to embark on it's two year sponsorship of the series. Taco Bravo is a Mexican style fast food chain in the area who's owner Dennis Wuollet has supported racing in the area for years. As I said, the people I have been hearing from are excited at the prospect of a new season with a new series sponsor and some new teams and drivers deciding to challenge the already highly competitive bunch of racers. Here are some quotes from just a few that are looking forward to the 2010 season.

Gary Costa is not only a PR guy for selected racing teams and a writer for such publications as "Flat Out", but he is an enthusiastic fan:

"Should be another exciting season for the Sprint Cars at Ocean. The series is only going to get tougher with new drivers coming to play on "Prentice's Playground". Beautiful surface, coupled with a promoter who actually gives a damn about his facility - I can't wait!

I love EVERYTHING about this track. I especially love the "in your face" action that the pits provide. The series has really taken off for the short time that it has existed.

With GT on board, now this baby will really take-off!"

Gary also adds that if he can help in any way, just ask. RIGHT ON Costa, thanks!

Gary Thomas is preparing for his announcing and PR duties at the track but offered up a line that says quite a bit:

"It looks to be shaping up to be a great season!"

Thomas says he has been spending time preparing his driver roster and informing himself on the drivers and teams for this season. Looks like "GT" is getting it all together!

John Prentice is the promoter of Ocean Speedway and has this to say:

"Thanks Everyone for all the support. We have spent the last 3 weeks getting the "Play Ground" ready. All new flags, banners and 50 gal of paint. If it was not moving I told them to paint it!!!"

In what some may call a momentary lapse of judgment, the powers that be have allowed me space on the "Ocean Sprints" web site to offer up my thoughts and opinions. I always have sumthin to say about sumthin so I will try to give my take on things from time to time and after each Ocean Sprints presented by Taco Bravo event. You are invited to go to www.oceansprints.com and click on the "Buzz'n around Ocean" logo to check it out, check it outers. Also the site has been updated to reflect the new Taco Bravo sponsorship as well as the new season, and pages are awaiting the information that will be generated beginning on Fri April 2nd and through out the season. So go ahead and get yourselves familiar with the site and be ready to keep up with what is happening with the series. If you are a driver or involved with a team at the track you are invited to click on the "Driver Profile Forms" link that is located on the "Drivers" page and download the form. Hopefully this will be an easy way to get your info listed. It is for your benefit so give it a try. The driver page gives everyone a place to get info on the participating drivers and teams in the Ocean/Taco Bravo series.

So it seems that there are plenty of people out there that have been busy this off season getting ready to bring you guys the best 360 winged event they can at Ocean Speedway this year. All that is left is for you to jump on board and take advantage of the entertainment that awaits you.

Remember, www.oceansprints.com and www.oceanspeedway.com

See you at the races!

The Lovett's will be in attendance grandstand side. Curious if Dennis is throwing a pre-race tailgater - definitely would not surprise me if he was :-)......

hey mike, you know dennis will appreciate the business fromfans no matter what location they visit. i know the campbell and san jose on snell ave locations are open till i think 3am on fri and sat nights and i think thurs as well. you fans need to check your nearest taco bravo to double check the times and while you are there, load up on that great bravo food! the best thing about taco bravo being open late is being able to jam back from tulare and hit taco bravo for a night cap meal after the drive!

hey chris, hope to see you around the track. look me up when you are there!

hey guys, the web site at www.oceansprints.com has been under going changes in preparation for the new season. so if you have visited the site over the past week a few times and it looks like stuff just isn't quite the same, it's because it's not! lol. i have to give thanks to lance jennings and gary costa who created and launched the site last year for the benefit of the fans, drivers, teams and everyone else who follows the Ocean Sprints/Taco Bravo 360 Winged Series. also many thanks to lance jennings as he helps to direct and instruct me as i become familiar with the operation of the site. so if something seems screwed up when you visit, that's just because it more than likely is! lol again! so thanks for cutting me some slack as i figure things out. i have to also thank my buddy gary and my other buddy gary.... that would be thomas and costa... for their help and input. the way i look at it, this site is for you guys out there so if you have anything to pass on or any helpfull hints or see anything that needs to be corrected, please let me know at [email protected]

hey guys, i discovered that some computers were having a problem viewing the driver roster page on the www.oceansprints.com site. so if you were having a problem that was my bad. sorry. so far it looks to be corrected. many thanks to bruce and jamie velo for their help. i got on my head a bit on that one but it looks like it just bent some bolt on parts! lol. easy roll! speaking of the driver page, i also have revised it so that it is possible to download the driver profile forms in a couple of formats. they can be downloaded in either office word or microsoft works. those are two common file types that should work for most people. there is also a download instruction page that will hopefully be of some help if needed. so if you are a driver that plans to run at ocean in the taco bravo series, you are welcome to download the form and complete it and send it back so your info can be listed on the site. working the site ain't like tuning motors or doing tires so it still takes me some time to get things done on it. that is why i ask that you guys slam it in gear and get your forms in so it gives me time to mess with them! lol. if i don't miss the fuel settings and burn the thing up we'll be ok! they don't make a density altitude gage that i can use to help tune the site so i have to do like the old days and wet my finger and hold it in the air and see how fast the moisture evaporates and how cold the air is on my finger and guess on the pill size! lol. i can't find the spark plugs in the thing either! oh well.

When is the next edition of "Buzzing Around" due out?

mr. crwn, or can i call you Trip? any way, so not as to overwhelm the internet in general and the northern california race fans specifically, i thought i would wait to put out another edition of "Buzz'n Around Ocean" with Buzz Rightrear till after the first Ocean Sprints/ Taco Bravo event this week. ( in other words, i didn't want to wear out my welcome!)

but since you ask! here's a little special Hoseheads edtition for you.

it's not official but wtf, here goes.

in my latest buzz around ocean i have been hearing that they are considering adding more banking and running the 360's every week starting in june. also i hear that taco bravo will be opening a stand at the track and everyone will get a free item to eat plus a soft drink with their admission ticket to the races on every taco bravo race. also the johnny key race will be 50 straight laps this year. no break. teams will have to make a green flag pit stop any time after the first 25 laps. also instead of paying lap money drivers will get one taco bravo taco delite for each lap led.

as i said this is all very unofficial, but until it is, all i have to say is..........

APRIL FOOLS SUCKERS!!!!

jeez i hope i don't get my a$$ kicked for this. sorry john and dennis, but i just had to do it!
