If the Outlaws were still scheduled they would get the show in!! They would have pitted in the pavillion like they have done before. Me thinks with the weather being cold with the north wind blowing the crowd would have been small. Handy would take a big hit with the purse being what it was. Probably a smart business decision! I live in Elk Grove and went out with my son for baseball practice and was myself thinking was it worth it to drive to Chico to freeze my butt off. I am glad Handy made my decision for me!! (although I would have gone.........the things we do for racing )

The Pavillion has a go-kart rental business set up and in place. It would not have been possible to get an ambulance out on the track and if a car went up over the berm a tow truck would not have been able to get to it. And yes, it would have been colder than hell.

You guys are WAY wrong stating that the Outlaws would have gotten this race in. The Outlaws are the biggest pre madonna wussy boys there are. Last year at Elma, three of the biggest names in the supposedly greatest show on dirt pulled the plug on the show, when they definitely could have gotten that show in. The Outlaws reek.........12 to 15 traveling cars with outrageous sanctioning fees and policies, which in turn, creates expensive ticket prices and so forth.......they can keep their crap off of the West Coast as far as I'm concerned......end of rant

Its funny how the Marysville race that had extensive rain the week before was still able to get the show in last week. With standing water in the infield.... We need a real promoter promoting sprint car racing out west! I like how I got the Tweet at 7am saying sunny here in Chico, then less then 3 hours later with still clear skys, say the race had been cancelled.... We need more options here in Cali!

No doubt. Can't say I'm surprised though. Marysville literally had a lake in the middle of it and Paul Hawes still managed to get the show on. The Bradway will be the next show for me at Chico please Handy don't fu#k that one up!

Why don't you step up to the plate as you seem to have all the answers. It's easy to sit back and take pot shots at the promoter...

Seems for others it just easier to cancel a race.... Thank goodness Tulare didnt have the same promoter, for the race on Saturday there would have never been ran.

Yeah and it's pretty obvious YOU can't read. Too much water = safety crews being unable to get to scene of a wreck. It's a good thing that YOU aren't a promoter.

I can read... My tweet alert from Chico Silver Dollar at 7am said what. Clear sky, and something to the effect that racing was going to happen... Then less than three hours it said the race was cancelled. If the pits where in poor condition on Friday night and they were getting stuck 15ft in, why think they can get the race in the next day? Ive been to Chico on a Friday night when rain was actually falling and they continued to race. This being less than 2 or 3 years ago. Ive been going to these things for over 30 years, im no rookie here.

If you've been going to these things for over 30 years then you should know that the safety of everyone involved in sprint car racing is paramount. And you must know (being a 30 year veteran) that rain-outs are common this time of year. Why don't you just admit that you have it out for Silver Dollar and Handy Promotions. You might start feeling better about yourself and maybe your constant criticism of the track will cease. JMO.

Have it out for Handy Race Promotions, I dont think so. I support this place every Friday night. After all, this is the only place in the State that you can see winged 410 sprint cars on a weekly card. I remember how big of a race the Mini Gold Cup is, and it sucks that there will not be a winner for this years race. I will continue to support Chico and Handy Race Promotions, for this is a passion of mine. At the same time, I am allowed to voice my opionion.
