Congratulations to Wayne and the entire Styres team. That was awesome. Congratulations to Tim Shafer on a great run this weekend. He is to be commended for his professionalism. He had enough sense and respect for the other drivers to get off the track when he knew his engine blew. That is a mark of a true professional.

Tough break for "The Steel City Outlaw". One thing is for sure, Tim is definitely a true gentleman & professional. It would have been nice to see him cap off the weekend sweep, but if it couldn't be Tim it was nice so to see Wayne Johnson pick up the big win.

The Steel City All Star is certainly on top of his game. Always a threat to win no matter where he races.

I thought it was very professional of Tim to show Wayne just how good the Goodyear tire is also. Wayne has pretty much crucified and insulted the Goodyear tire for a month now, yet he used them to stick $14,500 in his pocket. How ironic is that?

dirtracer84: I, personally, thought it showed a lot of character when one of the first things Wayne said in the interview was that he put a Goodyear tire on and it contributed to making the car great. (not verbatim but close). I have never seen Mr. Johnson overcome someone in possession of a microphone and use the opportunity to bad mouth either tire company. Whenever he has expressed his opinion it has been when an interviewer asked him a legitimate question. I never heard him say he didn't reserve the right to change his mind if proven wrong. Ironic - maybe but he did give Goodyear positive credit so lets pay him the same courtesy. Isn't constructive criticism supposed to be just that - constructive? Maybe if more drives shared their honest observations and opinions both tire companies would listen and continue to improve their respective products. I wish we could all get over this tire issue and focus on other things.
