Mason Moore geared-up to contend for Civil War and Placerville titles with Friends & Family Racing in 2010

By Gary Thomas

Princeton, CA - February 25, 2010…Going into his fourth year of sprint car racing Princeton, California's Mason Moore will look to make the 2010 season his best one yet as he prepares to enter his second full campaign in the Friends & Family Racing No. x1 mount.

The 19-year-old competitor is coming off a year that was preempted by an injury during an event at Silver Dollar Speedway in late-May, forcing him to miss virtually the entire summer of racing in Northern California.

Moore however, was able to return to action in late-August and put together a consistent end to the season scoring a pair of top-five finishes during the final two Red Hawk Casino weekly point races at Placerville Speedway, as well as top-five efforts with the Civil War 360 Series in September at the Petaluma Speedway and at Marysville Raceway Park's Sherm Toller Gold Fever Open in October. "I wanted to get back in the car pretty soon after the injury so it was great to be able to run some races at the end of the season," said Moore. "I definitely believe we could have even done some better things last year, but it just kind of got sidetracked a little bit with the injury."

In 2010 the driver known as "Primetime" will once again sit behind the wheel of the Alan Bradway/Steve Tuccelli owned F&F Racing sprinter to focus on the California Sprint Car Civil War Series and Placerville Speedway titles. "I'm really excited about this year and can't wait to get it started to see how we stack up with the rest of the teams and drivers," Moore commented. "It's been a lot of fun driving for Tooch, Alan and F&F Racing and I think it'll be great to get a full season together this year."

The schedule for the Civil War Series this season features 15-dates at six different tracks and is shaping up to be an exciting race at the front of the field with two-time defending champion Sean Becker, as well as former two-time titlist Mike Henry and four-time champ Andy Forsberg appearing to be the favorites to have to beat for the title. "It's going to be a competitive year for sure, but I think we established some consistency last season and that's what it takes to contend for a championship," said the former Civil War Series Co-Rookie of the Year. "I'm looking forward to gaining more and more experience this year running with the F&F guys at different tracks and hopefully we can get some wins and run towards the front of the field every night."

Prior to the start of the Civil War and Placerville Speedway weekly season Moore and the F&F Racing team are scheduled to take part in a pair of early season special events beginning with next weekends Spring Sprint Car Open at Marysville Raceway Park, followed by the 24th annual $8,000-to-win Feather Falls Casino Mini Gold Cup at Silver Dollar Speedway on March 12 and 13. "The Mini Gold Cup is looking to be another great show like always and knowing that there is big money on the line will make it even better," the Princeton, CA driver commented. "We just can't wait for it to get here and hopefully the weather cooperates so we can get it in."

In addition to his duties in the x1 Moore will also be competing in select events at the Silver Dollar Speedway in his family owned No. 22 sprinter.
