Check back again after Friday. We're getting another dose on Thurs/Fri. Track is uncertain right now, but looks as if we'll be getting some kind of accumulation.

For the 4th year in a row, I have to ask this? Why is it in PA they feel the need to race in the dead-middle of winter? Go back and do the stats, and I'll bet they have maybe gotten about 5% of the races in February in the past 4 or 5 years. Why not be normal like the rest of the country and wait for spring? These PA people get their shorts all wadded up over the season opener at Lincoln every year, and every year it is post-poned/canceled or moved back 2 or 3 weeks. It absolutly makes no sense at all to me. Hell, even Fred and crew have figured it out and have headed West for the next 3 weeks, where it is nice year-round. How many years is it gonna take for the PA people to realize it is winter still in February? It's not exactly rocket-science people!

There is nothing wrong with scheduling a race early and then canceling because of weather . Some times you hit it just right and it's a packed house . The sensible people know the chances of racing and not racing and don't get all that worked up about it. I hope they get their races in as early as possible.

Thanks, Beerhill. Not even aware of the commotion that is going on about this snow.

You'd be more aware of your surroundings if only you'd pull your head out of your ass... Smile

Asking Posse if they have snow at their tracks in February or March makes about as much sense as asking Pamela Anderson to show you her.....ACADEMY AWARD! Wink

With the onset of Global Warming, I am surprised they don't move the opener up another week or two. If the "settled science" of global warming is settled then tracks in the midwest should all be opening earlier every year. On a less sarcastic note, hopefully you guys in Pa. won't get buried in the blizzard they are calling for this weekend.

Thanks, that's more for the Northeast as it looks. We are basically on the 2-6/6-12" line as it stands now. Extremely windy too.

Yea, this is going to get pushed back another week it appears. As far as scheduling races this early, in the last 10 years Lincoln's season opener has been run BEFORE March 3rd 8 times(or 80%). The opening day crowd is also one of the biggest of the season.

Slink51, thanks for getting my hopes up for the 6 or 7th of March. You do really have a lot more snow down there then up here in Toronto.

That's correct, Stan. One that is needing a 410 fix!!!!!!!! Only 8 hours to that track-might as well fit in a family visit, while I'm there. Two birds, ne stone

The snow at Lincoln as of 2/23/10. Word on the street is they are starting to clear off walkways and taking in Food Shipments.

There has not been much additional accumulation here in Central PA(at least where I am). I'd say we are still on track for a 3/6 start. From Sunday on is supposed to be in the low to mid 40s with a chance of snow showers mid week.
