It couldn't have happened to a better bunch of money lovin lie tellers. What a great way to end the month of hearing how everything is so wonderful at the world center of nonspeed. Volusia is better off without them.

It would take NASNAP at least a week to get them over to Volusia.

You must be nuts. They cause asphalt to come apart and create a chunk in the track because they would lose viewers to The Chili Bowl? That's the dumbest thing I heard. Why would you create a chunk of your track to come apart? That would lose viewers. I'm sure while they worked on the track for an hour and a half, people did view in to The Chili Bowl.

That was the best Daytona 500 I have ever witnessed on the television.

Hooka, turn your sarcasm detector on then re-read the post you responded to. Too many serious people around here. Nobody can take a joke or spot one when they see it.

Are you serious? 1000 lead changes don't mean a thing when everyone is riding around wide open going 180 in a 230 mph car. Guts and talent not the way the wind blows should determine who leads. That artificial stuff that somewhat resembles a race is a joke.

Restrictor plates are there to stay and call it what you want but the last laps at a plate track are more exciting than anything in sports.

There is no guts needed to run 190 at Daytona? Rusty Wallace tested a Cup car at Talladega without a restrictor plate several years and said the car was undriveable after being clocked in the 220s. The restrictor plate may not be the best solution to reduce speed, but letting cars go 230 miles per hour isn't much of a safe alternative.

man u need to look at the record books, the year before restrictor plates more than 20 years ago thy where racing close too if not 210mph at Talladega and i know there where cars going faster than that back then and the drivers thought their cars handled great until the cars got sideways. the reason for the restrictor plates is because when the cars would get sideways the cars where getting airborne and flipping over backward meaning the cars where lifting into the air and then flipping in the opposite direction of a normal flip and flying like a wing then coming down and barrel rolling in the other direction some times sending them into the fence using restictor plates to slow the cars down was the only thing napcar could come up with to stop them from going into the grandstands.we now have safer barriers and ways too strengthen the fencing so i say get rid of the restrictor plates put the design elements back into the teams hands (so thy can design a car that will race at 220 agean) and let them race----------i think what Rusty was refering too is that nascar designed cars are undriveable without the restrictor plates

well nascar didnt become the most popular racing series by being boring..I'll always like sprint car racing more than NASCAR..guess i'm just not biased
