no other results as my dad was too pissed because they shortened the feature to 20 laps so they could run the late models!

They should have called the damn thing after 15 laps. There should be absolutely no complaints about the USAC feature, it took them damn near an hour to run only 20 laps.

Hey Steve,

Would you have felt the same way if they shortened you precious LM feature? To the people that PAID to get it & came to watch the sprint cars & chose Hanford over Tulare, they have evry right to be upset!

My apologies to you if you actually paid your way in but I doubt it. Nothing worse than a shortened race IMHO.

Favor boy, whomever you are... I would not have had a problem with having the late model feature shortened, it has happened before and will happen again. But the USAC feature was freaking pathetic. Please, if you can't get a 30 lap feature completed in 30 minutes you should have to suffer the consequences. So what would you have done? Punish the Western All Stars and not let them run their A-main because the sprint car guys took forever to run theirs. Remember, the Western All Stars are also a travelling series, not a weekly show at Hanford. I have never been a huge fan of time limits on races but there are times when it is a necessary and last night was one of them. I applaud the people at Kings for letting WAS get in their show last night. They ran off THEIR 30 lapper in under 20 minutes, if the USAC guys could have done that people wouldn't have to bitch about getting their race cut.

Let me start by saying I'm a traditional sprint car fan, first and foremost. I like the late models, but, they were not the primary draw for me at King's this weekend. Now, I've gotta agree with SC on this one...The USAC main was show in general was bad except for the last 10 laps of the main. AFter seeing those last 10 laps, I was wishing it wasn't shortened, but, it took way too long to run.

Having the the "3-lap rule" for cars int he work area didn't help matters, particularly when it took 5 laps to get the cars to the work area in the first place- This burned alot of extra time we really didn't have last night. Yes, I understand rules are rules, but it sure didn't help matters last night.

Finally, what do I blame most for the length of the show last night? THE CONDITION OF THE TRACK- I got there at 5:30, before the USAC hot laps and the track was rubber down...WTF? Rubber down, dusty, rutted track, before the first set of freakin' qualifying. Then....Then qualifying for sprints and late models ...50-something cars...and the track was really junk. As much as I hate watching the water truck and grader, I would have welcomed it last night. That was bad bad bad....

I love what's been done at Kings since mid last year, and thank the new management team for bringing one of my favorite tracks back to life, but, man...you're killin' me with those track conditions. I think this basically killed the whole USAC show, and the better part of the late models as well.

Yes, I'll be back next time becuase I love that place and I love the races, but, please lets hope everyone learned something from last night.

latemodels or sprint cars - the show sucked. .. I know watering the infield 3 times made a huge difference for alot of people. ha. and that easter egg hunt, wow, sign some of those kids to a develpmental deal! concessions - awful. track was even worse, $10 to get in the gate... you get what you pay for. A little excitement with Brown aiming for Kruser only to get wheeled. Kaplan redeemed himself after qualifying flub, almost a transfer, kid probably learned something.

Here's what'scary... a Hanford track like that, and it's only March/April. Can't wait for July, eh??
