those are good but if you will indulge me a bit, i have another that i wrote my self back in the day. since my buddy mike sargent is being honored into the mspa HOF it seems fitting to me to drag this thing out that i wrote back when we were tearing up california. lol.
CATCH ME IF YOU CAN
Well the stands they're all empty,
we're work'in on our car.
Didn't get much sleep last night,
Had to tow pretty far.
Now the people start to come,
and the crowd begins to grow.
For us it's a business,
But for them it's just a show.
They don't see the hours worked,
They don't see the money spent.
They don't have to pay the bills,
Or fix the cars when they get bent.
I guess all they really want,
is to drink they're ice cold beer.
They'll argue and they'll fight,
And then they'll stand up and they'll cheer.
And tho' they don't seem to see beyond
The excitement and the speed,
I guess it all works out,
'cause we both get what we need.
So come on out and see us sometime,
We put on quite a show.
We'll shake your hand and share our beer,
'cause our cooler is never low.
Then we'll load it on the trailer,
'cause it's time for us to go.
There's always one more race to run,
One more track we haven't tried.
There's always one more fan,
To keep satisfied.
Just when you wonder if the life you lead
Is any better than the rest.
Some kid hunt'in autographs,
Smiles and says thanks, you're the best.
Well I've burned my hands,
And I've slept in trucks.
I've lived for a week on twenty bucks.
I've worn faded jeans,
And old tennis shoes.
Stay'in up for days,
Well that's nothin' new.
So come on out and bring a friend,
