If one of the supposed reasons for shutting down the State Fair Speedway is noise complaints, how many complaints are they receiving per event, 25,50,100?
What kind of ratio is 100 (est.) complainants vs. 2500-3500 (est.) attendees and participants? I would estimate that many attendees are also residents of Ward 6 which includes the SFS. Aren't they, the tax paying, voting, attendees, entitled to the same rights and privileges to pursue life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness as the complainants? Why do the needs of the few outweigh the needs of the many? I thought this was a democracy and the majority was the deciding factor.
I think it is time to voice our concerns and outrage to both our Mayor and our Ward 6 City Council person, Meg Salyer. Her email address is: [email protected] and our Mayor @ [email protected]

The race track has been there for 55 years. I bet the majority of people who live in the surrounding neighbourhoods have moved into there homes well after the track was built and new that there was going to be noise coming from the track. So why is this a issue now? I'm sure there are some complaints but no where what the mayor is saying.

Why don't they just turn their hearing aids down?

If Lannie still has the track why can't we just have free playdays every friday from 5 tell dark just to make some noise? All we need is a flagman. Lol

In a meeting last night it was revealed that there has been 1 (one) official complaint about the noise from the track. That complaint came because it was past curfew.

Only one and the mayor makes it sound like 100.

One disgruntled old fart and 3500 happy participants. Somehow the math doesn't match.
Remember this is Meg Salyer's ward 6. She can be reached at: [email protected] plus the mayor Mick Cornett at: [email protected]
