That was not a "rhetorical statement", because what you said didn't need one. I just stated a fact!

Kenny

Mine is fact. Evidently mine needed a rhetorical statement or you would not have responded.

I guess I'm in the category of "ignorant;" however, I do not attend any winged sprint car races. I've always thought that they look like a bunch of outhouses going down the track.

I acknowledge that the winged sprint cars take a lot of talent; however, in my limited mind, the wings just take too much away from things.

Considering that I live in Tucson, the shows available to me are basically all winged ones. However, I'm looking forward to the ASCA non-wing shows and the two USAC shows at the local dirt track this coming year. At least I'll be able to see a little bit of non-wing racing.

Need to quote John McEnroe :You cannot be serious. This guy needs to get out of the office and see some races. Has he heard of Dave Darland,Jon Stanbrough,Bryan Clausen just to throw a few more names in the hat.

Nice post lewlew...

Right on Kenny, in regards to your targeted poster, your amazing observations continue to impress!

I'm just glad to see that someone at SPEED actually recognizes winged sprint car racing.

Kid.. Every time I think you've hit the top with one of your dumb ass statements, you prove me wrong.. This (Most nonwing drivers are just scared shitless to get in a winged car) has to be one of the most ignorant statements on this forum to date....Congratulations!

Kenny

Maybe they just don't like to go too fast.

Facts are like statistics these days, just ask Obama for his!.I can quote you all sorts of "facts" I read on the internet, aren't they all true?

"Racing is Racin", and we all like sprints cars, winged or not, they are all exciting to watch and get excited.

I was brought up with the supermods and IMCA sprinters. I LOVE non-winged!!! But, I love all dirt racing, no matter what the class. If it's racing, and on dirt, it's good.

There's a local man looking to bring wingless 360 racing back to the area, ala Midwest Speedway way back when (the birthplace of the spec 360 sprinter engine). The promoter at Eagle tried a once-a-month wingless show a couple of seasons ago which just didn't go over well, which I thought was a shame.

The list, as shown, is a good one. Those on there deserve all accolades, but as said it's subjective; one person's opinion.

Anyone who drives a sprinter, winged or wingless, has my vote.

I am lucky enough to work at one of the best tracks
anywhere.

As for Mr Kidd's comment about non-winged drivers being scared; ANYONE that straps into an approx 1,200 lb, 900 hp sprint car regardless of whether it has a wing or not is probably not short on courage. So, once you've done it, then you can make an observation like that. Until then; "better to remain silent & be thought a fool, than to open your mouth & remove all doubt"!!
