Andy Forsberg and Brian Cannon Motorsports join forces with Autism Awareness for 2010 Civil War Series and Placerville Speedway title run

By Gary Thomas

Chico, CA – December 19, 2009…When the 2010 season rolls around Auburn, CA's Andy Forsberg will have a different look on the track as the four-time California Sprint Car Civil War Series champion joins the Brian Cannon Motorsports No. 47 team for an assault on the Civil War Series and Placerville Speedway titles.

The car will be sponsored by Autism Awareness and team owner Brian Cannon is very excited and happy about the new partnership. "We're really excited about this and I have to thank Steve and Scott Vandenbroeke with Autism Awareness and all of our supporters for giving me this opportunity," said the 27-year-old long-time crew chief. "Andy and I have always worked well together so I'm confident that we should be right in the thick of things for the Civil War and Placerville titles next year."

In addition to being a four-time California Sprint Car Civil War Series champion Forsberg has captured a pair of Silver Dollar Speedway 410 sprint car titles and also picked-up the Placerville Speedway track championship in 2000. This past season saw "Mr. Excitement" claim 10 overall victories, which included his first career main event win at the famed Calistoga Speedway half-mile in August.

Other highlights over the course of the year were his first ever winged sprint car victory at the Tulare Thunderbowl Raceway during opening night of the Trophy Cup in October, as well as a Civil War Series win at Wild Winged Wednesday in June at Placerville. "It will certainly be a little change of scenery for me next season, but I'm looking forward to it," said Forsberg. "I've been working with Brian for a long time now and we've had a lot of success so I'm definitely expecting great things this coming year."

The 2010 season will also see Forsberg compete in select 410 races aboard the Cannon Motorsports No. 47 and the A&A Motorsports No. 92.
