Tyler Walker took the time away from a vacation in Idaho to speak with me earlier this week about his plans for the 2010 season. A few brief highlights:
The Bass Pro Shops logo on his MySpace isn't anything more than "a way to get some PR and media attention."
He's working on trying to secure sponsorship for a full time Outlaws ride next season.
He has no interest in going back to NASCAR.
You can read the full interview here. I have to say that I wasn't sure what to expect before the interview, but I got 25 minutes of very interested and candid conversation.

He has no interest in going back to Napscar.. You read that a lot from the few guys booted from Napscaar. I like Tyler and hope he is back in WoO. Wasn't he California sprint car driver of the year and his team, team of the year, or something.
Lawlessness + liberalism = HELL - NYC, Detroit, Chicago,

He won the Golden State Challenge title with a series-record nine wins last season. Probably would have won the Dirt Cup this year also if he wouldn't have punctured a hose with five laps left.
Sure, he could go to NASCAR next week and I'm totally wrong. But I think he's more relaxed and having more fun racing sprint cars than he ever did in NASCAR.

You are dead on the money, dirt.
When you get fired from somewhere (nice job missing driver's meetings, BRO) and the phone isn't ringing... it's amazing how you don't want to go back to where they don't want you.
I'm sure if Hendrick called tomorrow and said "$1.2 million salary plus plus plus 3 year deal" he would say "No, I'm not interested in Nascar." Tyler is that logical, after all.
TW is fun to watch on the clay ovals... keep doing it what works is my vote. I think it takes a little more than fishing on a dock in Cali to land the Bass Pro Shops sponsorship... but what would I know. Stranger things have happened. They sure wouldn't have to worry if their driver was stomping the loud pedal... big time.
