Here is my idea....
A $10,000.00 Southern SportMod Show held the first weekend of march.
Pay well all the way back and even have a nonqualifiers A feature.
Start advertising it now and watch the cars come in....
This would be an awesome show but has to be done before or after the points season.
Its just a thought and in my opinion that this could and would be a very successful show

You could pay $5000 to win and get about the same amount of cars as you would for $10,000 to win. You might even do a two day show both paying $5000 to win that way drivers would get paid both nights.
Just from listening to people talk.......

David that would be an awesome idea...
I was only thinking of the prestige of being the only one to hold a 10,000 to win sportmod show...
Why dont everyone put in thier 2cents and lets come up with the best idea for a big money sportmod show.....

I think the payouts are always wrong on these big races. Look at the payout above, you have to make the feature and run in the top 1-8 positions to even break even for the show.
I know the story we're all not in this to make money but give this a thought.
If you take the payout he has listed above at a total of $22,000.00 you've only made 7 or 8 racer's their money back. If you take the same payout and start paying $500 to start the feature, go up by $100 each spot in the running all the way to 3rd place and then jump each position by $500 or $1,000 and suddenly 24 racer's have at least earned their money back.
Everywhere there is a race track you have racer's that will never win or even finish in the top 5 but without those dedicated racer's only a select few racetracks would exist today. You need their money to pull off big race's and why not give back a little to them instead of 3 or 4 guys that are actually taking home some money.
Just my opinion.

Not really, I think Jaydad can attest to that.
Which race would you rather pull to?
I would rather promote the race where I could possibly get 100 cars in the pits.
With the economy the way it is right now it's already proved out this year that guys are going to have to watch where they spend their money.
That's not speculation, that's fact.

TMS had more than 160 sport mods last year i think and it was $400 to start and $2000 to win. All you gotta do is let everyone at TMS know your having this the next weekend after there race. Plus start your flyers and ads now. There is no doubt you will make your money back. With a $5000.00 to win. I know tms is tms its the big thing but Jaydad37 that idea would work.Just gotta find a Promoter with big enough balls to do it.

I agree with you. look at the pay out at texas motor speedway race and they get over 100 cars in each class. but it needs to happen early in the season or at the ended of the season. When people are not point racing.

Non Qualifiers: 3 $300.00 4 $200.00 5 $175.00 6 $150.00 7 $125.00 8th thru 24th $75.00 Payouts for each of Qualifier races on Saturday.

so by listening to others ideas, here is my suggested payout...
(A) Feature 1) 5,000 2) 3,000 3) 1,500 4) 1000 5) 750 6) - 10) 650 11) - 15) 600
16) - 20) 550 21) - 25) 500
Non Qualifiers feature will contain the top 25 cars in passing points that did not qualify for the A feature. The winner of this race will be added to the back of A feature
Non Qualifiers Feature 1) 300 2) 275 3) 250 4) 225 5) 200 6) - 10) 175 11) - 15) 150
16) - 20) 125 21) -25) 100
everyone who does not make the A feature or the non qualifiers feature will recieve 75
heat races would be done with passing points
B features will send the top 2 to the A feature
total passing points from heat race and B feature will decide non qualifiers feature
150 early entry fee and 200 after certain date
I would wanna do this 2 nites in a row, with complete payouts and shows each nite
is this a good start? I need everyones suggestion here....

The only way to make it work is to do it exactly the same way Texas did it last season. Your figure jaydad will never work the way you have it above. There are to many Indians here and not enough chiefs. I almost forgot a PROMOTER with the balls. Good luck but it's not going to happen. Wish someone would but if they have not made plans by now, they wont.

Thats a total of $30,000 payout jaydad not including the $75.00 you would be giving to the non qualifiers. You would need 200 cars at $150.00 entry fee and thats not counting the $75.00 for non qualifiers. No way it would work. Like some one said above Texas had 160 cars and you would need well over 200 cars. I thank downtheroads idea above is alot better it would need to be tinkered with a little but has a better chance. More realistic.

IF I WIN THE POWERBALL SATURDAY NIGHT, I WILL DO IT
plus, if you do it correctly, sponsors will lighten to blow. I believe to be feasible....
I have seen a payouts bigger than these and have less than 200 cars and the promoter was smiling on the way to the bank.

For the doubters on a payout working, look at the payouts from the $15,000 to win a couple weeks ago at USA in Tucson. They made that happen with a 3 day show and only had 93 mods show up. Modified was the only division to run Friday night, and only 2 stocker classes Saturday and Sunday. Excellant weather(except rain delay Sun.), even better racing. As it has been said, someone would need to work thier tail off to make it happen preseason at this point, or get a plan together w/ a track for post season event. Would love to see 100+ sportmods roll into Ada for $10,000 to win show. Photoman down there only guy around Oklahoma I could see getting after it to promote an event like this!
