I WOULD JUST LIKE TO COMMENT ALSO, BECAUSE I DO KNOW JESSE, HE DID HAVE A BAD YEAR, FOR HIM, NO DOUPT ABOUT IT , BUT IT WAS NOT ALL BAD, HE WON OSKIE, HE GOT 2ND AT LAKESIDE, AND FINISHED GOOD IN MOST THE NON WING RACES,UNLESS THERE WAS A PROBLEM. HE CAME FROM THE BACK IN LITTLE ROCK , AND ALSO IN CALIFORNIA THIS WEEKEND, AND I MEAN WAY BACK, IT IS NOT HIS DRIVING THAT IS THE ISSUE, THERE ARE A LOT OF ISSUES WHEN IT COMES TO JESSE HOCKETT, THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE DO NOT KNOW AND MAYBE IT IS TIME TO TELL, HE HOCKETT WORKS ON THE CAR, SETS THE CAR UP, DRIVES THE TRUCK AND TRAILER, AND ALSO HAS TO WORRY ABOUT THE FINANCES OF THE TEAM, OH AND DID I MENTION THAT THE TEAM STAYED AT HIS HOUSE ALL WINTER, THEY SLEPT ON COUCHES AND MADE BEDS ON FLOORS, BECAUSE YOU SEE HE LIVED WITH HIS PARENTS AND THIER HOUSE IS SMALL, AND JESSE AND HIS TEAM MADE A LOT OF SACRAFICES, JUST TO RACE, IT IS HIS LIFE, ITS ALL HE KNOWS, HE HAD TO MUCH ON HIS PLATE MAYBE THIS YEAR, I WISH HE COULD JUST GET IN THE CAR AND DRIVE, WOW WHAT WOULD REALLY HAPPEN THEN BOYS.

Racing410's....I completely agree with you, 100%. I've been on the floor, the makeshift beds, I've lived w/Jesse in his shop, taking very short lived luke warm showers and sleeping in a office sized room on a $20 couch we bought from goodwill but, at the same time, everyone out there has a "wow is me" story....which is fine to a certain point on this topic. Just want to make sure we are saying the right things and/or the pros/cons strengths/weaknesses that would factore into TSR picking up Jesse. If we want to talk about his adversities, and praise (or be pessimistic) certain aspects that don't pertain to jesse being a candidate for TSR, then we need a seperate topic. Again, I agree with all you've said, and for most part what everybody has said (except the 1 jackass that apparently has something negative)....just want to make sure we continue to promote and support Jesse as being a top candidate for TSR. And I agree....whoever the idiot is that has something bad to say about jesse, let's hear it....and I'm willing to bet you're just lapped traffic anyways.

Curious if TSR has set a timetable as to when they'll be announcing the TSR teams for next season?? Thanks Tbird

T-Bird,

Will Jesse be affiliated with Carl Edwards next year in any way?. With Tom Buch leaving, it would be nice to see someone like Carl help out a kid who is from the same area. With VKCC still on board and helping, someone could come on board and fill the bill, without a huge amount of money being involved. JMO.

I'm not sure, I don't think so though....I agree, it would be very nice to see that happen, and have Carl help out in whatever way he could. But, I'm not so sure how much Carl REALLY has his hands in that mix....ultimately, yes, he may make the "yes or no" decision. But from what I've heard in the past, he isn't quite as involved as say Tony or Kasey are with TSR and KKR....it looks like Jesse is open for discussion and ideas for whatever someone is willing to propose. That being said, it will take more money than one might think, even with VKCC on board.

I may be a little bias along with T-bird, but at least a car owner knows exactly what he will get with Jesse Hockett; obvious talent, determination, the desire to win everynight, a true "outlaw" driver. There is no denying Jesse puts on one of the best shows on dirt, no matter what type of car he's in.

Ryno, what's happenin bud?! Hey, gotta agree....and there are thousands that agree too. Obviously when he wins, or anyone for that matter, they talk about how badass that driver is....but something that is just as good, if not a better feeling, is when jesse doesn't win or finish in the top 2 or 3....yet he captivates the fans. I've been at many races, obviously wearing my hockett tshirt-and even more noticably, yelling/screaming at the top of my lungs-and have had random people say to me: "man, that hockett/13/75 is REALLY fun to watch!"....I'm very confident that there aren't very many people you here that about, in a wing or without it, 360, 410 or even a midget....did anyone happen to see his chili bowl qual night? In the feature.....5 laps in, LF shock breaks.....dangerous just to watch let alone drive, and the kid drove his ass off and his determination wouldn't allow him to fail....finished 8th! F'in unbeleivable.....god damn I love you jesse hockett! Tbird

aarpfan - that guys comment was made to get someone to take the bait.....

IGNORE IT.

I like Hockett. a threat anywhere he is at. Although he never was stellar in any race i saw him in this year (ascs 360's). I don't think it's a lack of talent - i think shit just happens. i bet they are better next year. The only critical thing I might propose - and i'm not even sure about it - but isn't he a bit hard on equipment?

i dunno. i guess i'll leave it to the many experts on here to determine. I know I always enjoy watching him race which is usually ascs/sprint bandit events - and thats about all i care about. if he ended up in such a good deal with heavy financial backing - sweet. best of luck to him no matter what or where he is racin'.

Not happening. Hocket had a shot in the KKR car a few years ago & it was short lived. The 20 car needs a driver who can be competitive on a regular basis.

Hockett is a lot like Stewart, but just on dirt. So far, I mean hes never had a chance on pavement like Stewart did early in his career. The guy can drive 360, 410, wing or non wing and is fun to watch. I do agree what one poster said that he is a little hard on equipment. Best of luck to Jesse finding a ride for 2010 although I dont think it will be this one. My vote goes to Daryn Pittman.

Lol....u gotta be kidding me. That "shot" was a joke....kkr was basically just getting started and more or less used jesse as a guinea pig. And he is NO WHERE close to what he was then as a driver. Someone may also bring up the #35 WoO car he was in the seat for a short, very short, time....there's something that needs to be remembered about jesse....he's never really had a crew chief that he trusts to make the right setup and work on the car (other than his late cousin daniel obviously), so he's always made the choice, turned the wrenches, decided his own set up. Quite frankly because HE knew what HE needed to do. Look at the KKR and #35 cases: they both were doing whatever they wanted w/o really listening to Jesse. Jesse and Daniel would tell the 35 team what they wanted to try and gave feedback and nothing was done, until Jess and Daniel said "F THIS!", unbolted his seat and left. KKR was definitely in more of a "testing and preparation" stage. Seems ike a lot of people bring the KKR gig up, but I think a heaping dose of salt may need to be takenin while consuming that. Rough on equipment? Yep, he sure is at times. Anyone who's a gasser like he is, will be. Again, I think he could easily be less rough in a different enviroment....sometimes he's rough on things because he's trying 10x harder than anyone else. Rough? Yep. Determined to be the best out there? Yep. Always giving 110%, never giving up until the checkereds wave? Yep. The common denominator from most fans, car owners and other drivers alike: he's ALWAYS fun to watch. I think that is something that could be well worth pondering on for a bit. How many other people are there out there that you hear that about? AND, are as versitle as Jesse???? "Grip it and Rip it, just don't Flip it!" Tbird

Put Hockett in that kind of equipment...and he would do well

As much as I like to see new blood in the big rides, there are too many hitters out there with out them. Gotta think a guy like Pittman, Tatnell or T Dub. Tony would get more milage out of those guys than he would the Rocket.

My point exactly. Too many proven WoO drivers out there. (Add Kemenah & McMahon to your list) That is what will gain an established WoO ride these days, not winged/nonwinged "versatility".

Scoop, I agree. If you had read what I've said b4, and others, I don't think Jesse will get the ride, probably not even much of a consideration for what you re-itterated....no proven 410 wing success (WoO or any other sanction) and WAY too many other more qualified shoes. Just would like to see Jesse Hockett in a "stable" enviroment with a good TEAM that stays consistent and takes a lil less pressure off of jesse.

THATS A GOOD IDEA, BECAUSE IF YOU HAVE NEGATIVE COMENTS ABOUT HIM YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT HIM OR HIS RACING . BEST TO KEEP YOUR UNWISE MOUTH SHUT.

So, why not title this thread the "I love Jesse Hockett" thread if you're not going to allow everyone to express their opinions? My thoughts on Jesse are that he is an exceptionally talented young man who has had his shares of ups and downs. I think he would do a fine job in the TSR 20 car. I have been involved in a couple of racing incidents with him that produced outcomes that did not show off his incredible talent. This is not to say that he is not a talented driver, he is definitely that, and I'm sure he has matured in time, I just can't say that everything about him is positive. I'm sure that he will excel in whatever situation he ends up in and I wish Jesse all the best. I hope this somewhat clarifies my original post.

1st off, this thread is for people who want to support the efforts of Jesse Hockett being in, or given a chance, in the TSR #20....so if you you have negative comments then this may not exactly be the place. However, I don't opppose those comments, as I've said before and actually support some of the negatice aspects about jesse. But that's what makes someone who they are; you know the goods and the bads about that person. BUT, you're not portraying youself as someone who respects Jesse....rather, as someone who is jeleous and/or bitter about a couple of incidents that you may have had with him. 2nd, what about jesse isn't positive?? Other than the fact that you've been in a wreck with him before, even if it were his fault?? 3rdly, no, you really don't clarify your earlier post with this one.....yeah yeah yeah, you say some of the right things: jesse is "incredible talent", "will excel in whatever situation", and "exceptional talent" but your tone that you send with the comment of " I just can't say that everything about him is positive" basically flushes your previous statments down the shitter and shows who you are. What happened? Why are you SO against Jesse?? 1, maybe 2 races you've been involved with him in a wreck.....how many times u think jesses been on the same side you've been? Or been wrecked wrecklessly by someone who has their daddy's $$ or big sponsor to just shrug it off when that leaves jesse digging into his own and his families pocket to get to the next race?!?! I feel no remorse, and still stick to my earlier statment that you're lapped traffic compared to Jesse Hockett. So tell me/us....what do you have that's SOOO negative about Jesse? And yeah, this should be a "I LOVE Jesse Hockett" thread! I LOVE YOU JESSE HOCKETT!!!! Tbird

Are you calling the TSR 20 consistent? Thats funny right there.

We as fans of any sport have our opinions and if we are on a public message board don't be surprised if you read/hear something you don't like, whether it be true or not.
