I am in the process of restoring a Wolfgang/Weikert #29 sprint car that raced in the1986 end of year Western Swing in California and Arizona.I am searching for and would buy any photo's or scans of that particular car.I know it won several of the feature events and am hoping someone will have a victory lane photo.Any still photos of the car will be extremely helpful. Please contact me if you can help or maybe some one can lead me to some of the photographers who may have been shooting those nights.Any help is appreciated. thanks, Ron Cubic [email protected]

If you wanna give a shot, go over to the Williams Grove forum .

http://www.williamsgrove.com/forum/index.php

If you create a screen name or maybe you already have one, try posting in the racing in the past forums! there are alot of great old school pictures, and theres a good chance someone may be able to help.

Thank you for the responses.Unfortunate for me, I have tried the suggestions previously.I've been hoping to actually find someone who was on the west coast that may have been taking pictures at those particular races..

Mike Arthur would be a good bet along with Jim Chini, if any west coasters have contact info for him.

I think 1986 was the year Wolfgang won at Calistoga Speedway and lapped almost the whole field, I wanna say up to like 3rd of 4th, which I believe was Sammy, Steve and Doty. It was pretty awesome to sat the least. Here are a few pics from '86 I have located, good luck

The older I get, the faster I used to be.

Thank you for posting these pics. The above would be one of the potent Trostle chassis cars they ran in the 1985-86 seasons. The car I'm looking for is one of the Gambler chassis cars they only ran sparingly in 1986 and mainly at this western swing. That is why the pics are so hard for me to find.Below is a sample of the car that was provided to me by CMP video.I think Bruce actually made the photo from a DVD tape frame.Note the different roll cage design.

Maybe contact Wolfgang himself and see if he has some pics?

Ron,

There are two fairly clear shots of the Gambler chassis car in this set of pictures... Most are of the Trostle chassis. Kind of fun to look through all of these of Wolfie anyways,,,Smile
