Seems not as many cars able to make repairs and get back out now with this new rule.
I never liked waiting for cars to be repaired but 2 minutes seems a bit short???
What I really like is no fuel stops but they are allowed per rule book (4.8i Racing).

Tulsa only gave us 2 laps to make repairs and get back out. I believe you had to be at the gate ready before 2 laps were completed. It's just enough time to change a rear tire. I know from personal experience. We had me on the jack and two others getting the tire changed. That's making sure the spacers are gonna work with the new wheel and all. Air pressure was already set before the car came off due to crew paying attention.

No I don't like waiting but I accept the fact that these crews need a realistic chance to get their cars back out on the track.
The races I've been to this year 2 minutes seemed a little short.

I think 2 minutes from the time the car arrives in the work area would seem like an eternity while sitting in the grandstands (after waiting 10 minutes or whatever from the time of the incident to the time the car gets to the work area) but that same 2 minutes would be the blink of an eye if I was the one trying to get the car back on track.

Who is WoO trying to pacify?
The racers, or the people that pay the bills (grandstand)

Should do both.
The teams always had issues with inconsistent # laps, time it took for laps, etc....
The fans do want to wait forever.
Most teams in the crew challenge last year changed complete front ends in less that two minutes.

they waited longer than 2 min at tulare for saldana to come back out after t-mac got into him. they also waited over 2 min at tulare the first night when tk hit the wall in his heat and could not make it out. i told haud after the race when they waited for saldana that i guess he was driving for the wrong team cause if you drive for kasey the time limit seems to go away. he laughed and said he almost fell asleep waiting for joey.lol. i don't have a problem if they give extra time. they just need to try to be fair. if the cars were lined up and ready to go and they had to wait for more than 2 min for someone i can see them maybe starting the race if there had been a lot of yellows and waiting for cars. but if we are still waiting on the line up and 2 min have passed and time is not a real issue i think they should give the guys a break. like i said as long as they try to be fair.15 years ago they would have given haud more time. but they have new babies to coddle to now.

You do recall last year when the WoO teams were having those "Pit Crew Challenge" things at some events...Since most teams had proved that they can quickly change all sorts of things in a timed manner, this 2 minute thing could certainly be the end result.
If nobody likes it now, is there fault to be had for being so efficient?

At Tulare it was a Red flag situation. Joey wasn't the only car involved. The 2 min rule is not a maximum and they have to stop.

you still have 2 min from the time the track goes back to yellow after a red.

and not only should WoO do away with qualifying.......someone should start back up these heats and qualifiers idea. That would be over the top. Race track would then be cloud nyne instead of 8.lol.

No matter what you do someone is going to think they got shafted. Fans, even participants look at it as waiting for a car because it is so and so, but many times infact the officials are trying to get a car in a correct position. Also has there ever been a time where a driver delays getting line up, to give a team mate more time in the work area? Maybe they need to go back to the old way. If they are ready to go, lights out and we go green. The second the race director say lights out, that's it, no "who's in the work area". If the (work area) car isn't rolling then they are done till the next yellow.

I think that's what brought about the change - the different sized tracks and different caution lap times. The Crew challenge last year showed what a prepared crew could do in a short amount of time. The only inconsistency that I see remaining is the clock not starting until the last car enters the work area when 2 or more cars are involved. The first car brought to the pits has an advantage - perhaps they need a couple more stopwatches and give each car only 2 minutes?.
