Can't help you, but it reminds me of the unexpected and huge cost involved with cleaning the place up after the Outlaws raced there. The dust had no place to go, just swirled around in the bowl that is Bristol. There was dust on all 110,000 seats and it ended up taking days and days to clean.

Adding $6 trillion of debt in his 1st term and now if
elected again he wouldn't have to worry about an
electorate in 2016 so the sky is the limit. And his EPA
would continue to put the screws to oil drilling and
mining for coal. Can you say bankruptcy.

Kinda like all the people affiliated with Nascar when they saw the track record shattered by a sprint car - days and days to get over that. Sure do miss that place on the outlaw schedule.

that is a funney one 15," take that and blow it out your asphatlt A$$" wouldnt you have died to see a napcrap car on asphalt get schooled by a sprint on dirt, I dont know how they would configure the track? , maybe somebody out there in media land can super impose a lap turned by the two cars at the same time? cool! and humorous!

I can't do that - but look at it this way: Bristol Nascar track record is 14.908 seconds - Newman, and WoO Bristol record is 13.86 - Swindell. So, if we have a 30 lap race and these #'s held the same the whole race, Nascar faithful would get lapped over two times in those 30 laps - pretty ugly for Nascar fans IMO. Outlaws would finish roughly 32 seconds faster in the 30 lap race. I'm not really sure why they weren't brought back after two years, but I remember speculation of part or alot of it had to do with Nascar and Owners not liking the idea of being shown up on this - the speed records were a huge deal. I guess another reason I've lost my ability to be a Nascar fan - pansies! LONG LIVE THE DIRT!

Like comparing apples and oranges....Just as an F1 car will outrun a sprinter on a road course, a 1300 lb. sprinter with a wing will outrun a 3500lb. stocker at Bristol..while its fun to compare lap times, there's really no point to comparing them.....

NASCAR fans love NASCAR, and sprint car fans love their sprinters..

They're both fruits - what's your point? Just like to be a little anal, huh? This was just for fun - sorry if you don't know what that means. Live a little - people are happier that way. BTW, what would your F1 do against a sprinter on a 1/2 mile oval? At least this was about the same track, not two different types. You say while it's fun but no point - isn't that the point - TO HAVE FUN? Jeez - tight ass.

Its not apples and oranges at all. They are both ovals and Napscar races on ovals, including Bristol, minus the 15 " of clay. Very valid comparison. I think I remember that a large part of the crowd was taxi cab fans and they didn't expect the dust. In fact, I don't think anyone thought the dust was going to be a problem. The cost to haul all that clay in there? Wow! And then take it off again.

I have all the Woo Races on Vhs from Tnn and Sammy Swindell won 2 and Donny Schatz won the prel and it took about 150 Grand to convert Bristol over to dirt and after 2001 races they said it was too much money and effort for it so ; they no longer raced there ! they were from 2000 and 2001 ! I miss Tnn alot because I have ALL the races on VHS !

Still one of the best racing weekends I ever had. But I'd think a fuel injected 410 sprinter weighing half as much as a carbed 358 car should be faster. I'd go back in a heartbeat. If hey did it at Martinsville I'd make that trip too.

You can say that again.

We took down about 20 or so with us for the first one in 2000. We were camping next to the creek and access road outside of 4 (cow pasture). It was hot as hell and we sat in the creek drinking all weekend to stay cool. The best race weekend I ever had!

And you think that I'm a little tight?

Jeez, I didn't know that your point of view was the only one that counted on this board.....maybe the next time I'll ask your permission before I post anything......I sure don't want to set you off AGAIN!

Sounds good to me. My point of view means shit as does anyone's on here - the point was to enjoy how much faster the sprints are than bumper cars - you're the one who couldn't just let it be and enjoy it for what it was. But by all means, ok everything with me before you post it, allright?

I used to have most of them also. Any plans on converting them over to DVD's? How much would you want for a set of what you have. Loved the coverage TNN had.
