For all of you who follow Pennsylvania Sprint Car racing or have in the past, longtime driver/ car owner Jim Nace has passed away! He was known for driving the Camel Express 26 back in the day along with other rides! And the past couple of years fielded a car for a few drivers who ran for him! He will be truely missed in the local dirt racing community! Rip Jimmy!!

Having known Jim for years, I can say without a doubt, he was one of the good guys. Unfortunately, I lost contact the last year or so since I haven't made it to the Grove (or any other sprint car races this year) and we haven't done any business together for several years now. So, I was out of the loop as to his condition recently. When I saw him in Knoxville last year he looked really good and was in great spirits. So hearing of his passing comes as somewhat of a shock, even knowing the battle he's fought with the demon the last several years.
My condolences to Crystal and the entire Nace family. RIP Jim.

Absolutely one of the nicest guys you would ever want to meet. Hopefully your pulling one of those awesome wheel stands (like susky in the old days) at the track in the great beyond. Our sincere condolences to the entire Nace family. God Speed Jim.

Jim-Mers! Tallest sprint car driver of "his" era in Central Pennsylvania. Took title when Bobbie Adamson retired. Survived hardest crash (at that location of the GREED), that I've ever witnessed. Attempted to destroy the fence at end of pit road at Williams Grove. Fence survived and so did Jim-Mers, but car went to sprint car heaven! If his "Old Cowboy" straw hat still exists, it should be interned with him. RIP. E-Mods.

It was cool seeing him enjoy his car the last couple years. The 6 is about as bad fast as any. Christ's peace to the family.
Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

I was always a Jim Nace fan. He was a cowboy type driver as he always liked a rough rutty track. I remember one night at "The Grove" after a feature victory Bruce Ellis was interviewing him. This was back in the day when Williams Grove could be pretty rutty which it really was that night and Bruce ask Jimmy what he thought of the track and Jimmy laughed and said it could be a little rougher, which got a laugh out of all of us. Thing was he was serious, he liked them rough as he knew that separated the men from the boys.
I also remember one time back in the mid 80's he and I believe Bobby Allen finished dead even in a feature one night at Lincoln. If I remember correctly it was the PA State Sprintcar Championship race. Long time ago and my memory isn't what it used to be, but after video review I think they might have given the win to Jimmy. Anyway, one of the good guys is gone, but not forgotten. RIP Jimmy Jeff Kohler Mechanicsburg, PA
