Does anyone know what time practice & quals start this weekend for the Bud Oval Natioanls? I have checked the Usac site and the track site they have nothing posted.

This is my 1st visit to the track. Anyone have a recommendation on where to sit? I like to be near the "party" crowd. Also, what about camping with a tent ... any good places I should look for when setting up Thursday afternoon?

thanks

Spectator gates open at 4:00 PM on Thursday and Friday. Cars will be on the track at 4:00 PM on those days. Practice will commence around 4:30. Spectator gates will open at 3:00 PM on Saturday.

Camping is through the Southern Califiornia Fair Association: 951-657-4221

Hope you enjoy California's best racing facility! The PA system with Scott @ the mic is the very best anywhere. And then of course there is the action on the well maintained track. As far as a good seat most are just that. Have a great time Oakland! Smile

If you are bringing a tent, bring some extra blankets. We are on the edge of the dessert and it gets pretty chilly at night. In the 40s (one night in the 30's) the past week or so.

You need to sit behind flagstand, there is usually eye candy there.

Check out the Perris Lake camp grounds. They have decent showers and bathrooms and the camp grounds are very nice. It costs $25.00 a night and when you go back after 10:00 you have to take the back road in. It is nice because you don't have all of the traffic from others. When you get there just ask for a map to getting back to the camp grounds after hours and you should be fine. It is really easy getting back and forth, it just sounds like a pain. I have used these facilities for years and have never had an issue. Enjoy the races!!!

OSF, If you like the partying, you'll want to camp @ the Fairgrounds/track with all the other partying fans, rather than off grounds. I've seen those race fans party after the races. Welcome to our track. Have Fun.
