So far, we have WoO returning to Chico for the Mini Gold Cup in March. Anyone hear if they are coming back to Tulare, Ocean and possibility Santa Maria or Perris in March 2010? A Ocean (Friday) and Santa Maria (Saturday) weekend would be fun!

I have my fingers crossed for a Santa Maria WoO event but I just dont see it happening this coming year, perhaps the following as that will give more time to add seating and parking arrangements for what would be an overflow crowd. Who knows though, with Chris Kearns at the helm he seems to go big with his promotions.
Scott it was nice chatting with you and your wife at the T-Cup, hope to do it again soon.

I kinda of miss Hanford myself. What's going on with Kings Speedway anyway?
The older I get, the faster I used to be.

Well...
It's back to the same old crap. The Western All Stars ran there last week and while checks were wrote, drivers didn't get them as Frank didn't have the cash to cover them.
From what I was told a couple weeks ago the fair board is supposed to be meeting very soon.

Thats too bad, that was once a very nice track and facility. I miss their onion rings too.

yeah i live in Hanford and been going to kings since i was like 3 it's a shame the direction that facility been going and it's not going to go anywhere or get any better until they get a new promoter and people that know how to run a operation to bring back events such as the trophy cup and the outlaws and GAC series ect... it's nice when you have two tracks like Kings and thunder bowl... 20 minutes apart there's racing all the time.. can't wait till the day comes again and i'm confident it will kings speedway has got alot of potential!!! it's a shame that it's getting a bad rep cuz of the promoter. I will be suprised if Frank is still there after 2010... or for that matter last the 2010 season...
p.s i know the Economy is not up to snuff but i know there's people out there that have or are thinking or waiting to possibly take over the track !!!

How about someone from the Tarlton family run the track. They could work with Tulare, Santa Maria, Ocean and Chowchilla with dates and similar rules. It would be good for wing & non wing racing in central Cali.

I hope you are wrong about 2010 because as I have told you that would make the trip mandatory for me and I could take you up on your generous offers of Santa Maria hospitality :-)....

I heard awhile back that Tarltons were looking in to buying the place ?? but that came and gone... but your right that would work out perfect.

NO. But it may be possible to buy the lease from the present holder but that also would need the boards approval i would think. Just my opinion.
