I talked to Cody at Rolling Wheels. I asked if it was a done deal, and he said "No, it's jus for this one race." I then asked "auditioning for a job?" and he replied "I don't know."

I doubt a decision has been made yet, but its possible. My guess would be either Sweet or Darrah next year in the 19.

Your friend probably heard the rumor and thought it was fact. Not yet.

Allard was in the Sparks 91 at Devils Bowl last weekend...are these all Sparks or KKR entry cars?

I've been really impressed with Cody the few times I have actually seen him drive. He is a real talent with great potential. However, I think it would be mistake to put him on the WOO circuit until he has another year or two of regional experience with travel to some of the major events in the Eastern half of the country (more or less). The circuit can be a grinding experience, especially if things don't go really well from the git go. Adjusting to a new car, new crew and a multitude of new tracks can lead to real frustration. Just ask Craig. He was probably the hottest car on the track the first half of 2008 and was strong all year in 2008 until he broke his arm. This year, I don't think they ever figured out how to qualify the 19 well. Still managed to improve postion by numerous spots in most features and will have a solid fifth place in the standings even with the short year.

There's a multitude of good drivers with WOO experience out there that can make the 19 a very competitive car.

Gotta love the people who are saying Sweet will be in the 19 (changing to 91 next year with Great Clips on the wing) when KKR has already said Sweet will be running his own "outlaw" schedule of midgets, non-wing, and winged for Kasey. You can really take you guys serious.. not.

For people that say Darrah can't drive outside of PA, you better check his stats at Eldora this year in his first year there, and he also did set the fastest time at Knoxville during the Nationals (and got caught up in a Heskin mistake that took him out of it). Hint Hint: The Outlaws are all about qualifying (2 fast times with WoO and 28 qualifying points in limited time.. which is more than what Dollansky had) and the kid is amazing at that as you can see, and he can also drive his ass off too.

Don't ya think Kasey sees a little bit of himself in Cody, hence him getting these chances at the end of the year to prove himself? KKR will make a good decision, and we'll find out soon so no need to worry.

Now there is a smart response with some insight. You can pretty much bank on Cody driving for KKR next year.

2009 Eldora finishes -not impressive

5/9 7th

7/17 12th

7/18 13th

9/25 22nd

No doubt the kid is fast and can time trial. He won the WoO race off the front row at the Grove recently.

The last successful driver that came out of central PA was Stevie Smith and before that, the great Bobby Allen. Maybe Darrah will be the next, maybe not, time will tell.

How has Darrah done on short tracks? I am sorry to say but he is not a racer only a qualifier. He is going to get Spanked at the Short Track Nationals This Year. Scott Winters would do better in that ride then Darrah, I am surprised your not preaching that he needs that ride.

Bobby Gerould reports Sweet to be in KKR #1. Leading candidates for the #91 are Stevie Smith, Lucas Wolfe and Cody Darrah. Wolfe's Indy Lights deal fell through. Courtesy of www.ibracn.com.

Big J. I know Sweet plans on running a true outlaw schedule. But I figured if Sweet wanted the ride he could get it. After running the rest of 2009 in the #19 he may decide he wants to run full-time with the Outlaws, you never know. But it sounds like if he made such a decision it would now be in the #1, and not the #91. But yes, he probably will only run a limited Outlaw schedule in the #1.

Darrah runs Lincoln every Saturday night, which is a paper-clip 3/8 with some banking. He does more than alright there, so I think the haters who think he can't drive on anything but a high-speed half-mile need to chill. He's young and will get better with more experience. Like some have speculated, throwing him to the wolves this year might not be the best move. Another year racing in central PA with more travel mixed in will help a lot. To say that if you don't run well at the Short Track Nationals, you don't run well on short tracks is a bit near-sighted. There is a lot of luck involved there, far more than ususal.

How soon we forget about the young man that the rookie of the year honors are named after.

Your right, if Brad wanted it, but Brad has bigger and better things on his horizon. The kid can run anything and be up front. I remember when he first started here in Nor-Cal, in the now defunct 83v, man this kid is gonna be good.

The older I get, the faster I used to be.
