I took this shot of Wolf hard on the gas at East Bay in February of 1983 in the Kenny Rogers Gambler house car.

If you read the Wolfgang book, which I forget the name at this time, it says it wasn't one of his favorite rides. The deal just wasn't right for him. Get the book, its a real good read.............

Favorite ride or not... that is one beautiful sprint car.
At the time ('83) it was a refinement of the paint jobs the 18 had for a few years previously... but was a major step up. Compared to other cars in '83... this is a showcar paintjob. Simply a classic.
Wolf didn't run the Spurlock 18 that long... much longer time in the Speedway 4x, Howells 4, Stanton 75/40 or Beefmobile.

Great description, some guy, even though he stepped in one side and out the other - any picture of the old Gambler with a black helmeted driver is instantly Wolfie.
