Came across this article on Hoseheads.
http://www.hoseheads.com/ron.html
It mentions that over the radio he heard the officials were aware of Sammy's flat tire causing him to not start properly on that lap 28 restart . I'd love to hear from anyone from the WoO's about the ruling on this type of situation. Is this just a cut and dry rule or do they take safety into consideration?
It seems to me that Larson had no choice but blow past Sammy or there would of been some major carnage coming out of turn 4. What say yee Hosers? I know someone from the WoO will read this but lets see if they surprise us and respond.

Thanks Sprinter25. I think I knew your response to this thread before I even posted it here. Thanks for not making me wait.
I was kinda hoping to learn something about the rule to see if drivers safety was a consideration.

that was one hell of a show put on by Kyle. New and raw talent is what this sport is about imo and he has it all. the unfortunate spin on the last lap was just a bump in the road for "the kid". wait...Kyle "the kid" larson, did we hear it here first?
it was obvious he was ready to play with the big dogs and show them the way around Chico's famed quarter mile. way to go kyle...
we followed the woo down the coast to chico for the big show and i am awaiting next years racing to follow "the kid".
Ascot was the greatest of all time..
West Capital wasn't half bad either..
Life is good...

My race buddy and I have taken to calling him "the Kobra". But I like "the kid" too.

Once again, thank you captain obvious. We can always count on you to be the first turd floating in the punch bowl.
As for the incident, it was clearly a bullshit call...end of story.
Cheers!
