I think this car was next to an old trailer in Duane's (Nodust) front yard if I'm not mistaken. He definitely showed me something along this line on one of my visit's to his shop/home. Take It Easy...

Looks a lot like Robert Bell's latest creation. Quite the innovator, he is. lol.
My wife told me if I went to one more Sprint Car race
she would leave me.................I'm sure gonna miss
that ol' gal.

What a memory. I don't think he used tear offs back then, he just banged his flip up visor on the bar above him to knock the mud off. I met him at one of the old restaurants north of the track at a fall race sometime back then. We offered to buy him breakfast, and we BS'ed for a while after that. Keep the oldies coming!

I went and picked the car up from Duane's several years ago. It was brought back to Wisconsin with the intention of "restoring" it. It's sits just like it did at Duane's. Make a long story short, the car is around. It is pretty much complete except for the engine which scattered it's guts the show after the Nationals at Knoxville in 1983? I was helping Carmen that night and still have photos of the grenaded powerplant.

Thanks Paul, I was pretty confident this was the car he was talking about and it's before my time in the sport, soooo. Thanks for the opportunity to think of my dear old friend as well, I sure miss his emails and phone calls. Take It Easy.....

Duane brought that motor to the Hall of Fame 4 or 5 years ago it seems. It's currently on display in Trostle's garage in the museum.

Could be, there was a dummy block in it when I got the car.

This is Carmen in 1984, the year he held off Kinser for half the heat race at the Nationals and finished second to Steve.
Notice all the changes in the car.... well the wing and number are different and a cockpit panel is missing.

Hey Lee! You have some great shots of years ago. Brings back several memories. Keep them coming. Gave those pix I got from you to Jac ( the 31 car) and Patty (of her brother Mike) at Chico. Even got to meet Mike as he showed up for Saturday's show.
Thanks,
John (Minneapolis)

Very nice, the car with the G&G photo is the it came back to Wisconsin from the muesum except someone did put paint on the this beauty. Carmen does have the injection and mag from the engine. A big long block and the car would be complete. The car is for sale. I would say the G&G Trucking photo is pretty close to how it sits. No liteweight top wing here.
