Why are they driving all night with no sleep to get to the races? They had 12 days off to drive from Phoenix to Houston. According to Yahoo maps its 1177 miles, all they had to do is drive 100 miles a day, its says they do this 90 times a year. Nineteen of their races are at the same track they raced the night before, do they leave the track and drive around all night & go back to the same track?

Even though they had 12 days to get to the next race, they usually don't stay "on the road" the whole time. Probably went back to the shop to fix anything that may have needed to be fixed, replace any broken parts, restock t-shirts, etc... etc.... etc.....
Twelve days on the road would equate to 12 days of hotel rooms, meals, etc..... etc.... etc... usually cheaper to drive back to the shop, where they can stay for the down time.
