Dont Forget, The Northern Vintage Stock car racers will be there in force with the vintage cars! CLS added them after the last 2 races that they were supposed to run were rained out. This race was Awesome last year in spite of the rain!

Oh yeah, Cheer for Butch, in the number 31 supermod! GO DAD!

OK, now let's see how many Huset's cars make the trip. You won't need more than one hand to count them.

The issue wasn't how many Husets cars would show up at Cedar Lake. It was how many Knoxville cars were offered extra purse money and wouldn't have been at CLS.

I hate racing politics and am glad this thing has been resolved. All I want to do is see some great racing, catch a few good photos and sit by the campfire howling at the moon later on. Speaking of howling at the moon, have you ever heard JRKracer sing country? wink

You can call her the "Queen of Speed" or "Lady Lead- foot" but Sprint car racing's fastest female is planning on being called the next champion of the 9th Annual Jerry Richert Sr. Memorial Race this coming Saturday night the 12th of September at Cedar Lake Speedway.

Crew chief Mike Woodring has confirmed today that Erin Crocker- Evernham is pumped and excited to take on the best sprint car drivers of the upper-Midwest on the racy 3/8 high banked dirt oval.

Crocker-Evernham will have her work cut out for her on that evening as we are expecting stiff competition from the newly crowned Knoxville Champion "Hollywood" Herrera. We are also excited to announce that our 2003 & 2004 Jerry Richert Sr. Memorial Champion Terry McCarl will be back and ready to battle with the best of the Midwest. Mark Dobmeier is also scheduled to make an appearance and will be out to make up for the disappointment of last year's race where he ended the night in the trailer with a blown motor. Travis Whitney is another confirmed driver and is excited for the race. With time trials kicking the night off it will give him a shot of regaining his one lap record at a track that he loves racing at.

IRA President Steve Sinclair is also excited for this year's event and is confident that one of his regular travelling team's will be on the podium for this event. The current point leader going into this event is 2008 Champion is Billy Balog. Will there be an Aussie Outlaw in the field at this year's Memorial? ?????

I believe it was originally scheduled as a non-wing race but has since been changed to a regular winged race with an enhanced purse....

The Upper Midwest Sprint Car Series (UMSS) is proud to be included in the 9th Annual Jerry Richert Memorial. On September 12th at the legendary Cedar Lake Speedway, the Interstate Racing Association (IRA) will join the UMSS to present the first ever all sprint car show at the race track. "We are very honored to be included in this very prestigious event," stated Ron Bernhagen of the UMSS. "I watched Jerry Richert race many times and to have our series involved in this special night of racing in his honor is something I will always treasure."

The UMSS would like to thank the Richert family for enhancing the purse for the UMSS portion of the Jerry Richert Memorial. Over $1,000 in product and cash will be added including a set of pit stands, a gift certificate from Triple X, money for the farthest tow as well as extra cash in the purse. The exact purse will be announced after Labor Day.
