I'm not trying to diss Schatz or start a war on here with anyone and I hope you people can help clear this up. The start of the A-Main Wednesday night Schatz started 20th and the green flag drops Schatz gets bottled up behind some cars didn't gain any positions yellow comes out for a spun or stopping car. That's cool. The next restart Schatz passes for sure 3 maybe 4 cars before the start/finish line. Should that have been allowed? Is there a rule on this situation? I've seen Doug Clark send drivers to the back and yes he was starting 20th anyway but hey that's still 4 positions farther back. Discuss.

I may be speaking out of turn, but they only have to stay lined up til the chalk line, right? So passing cars between the chalk and the flag stand would be fine???

The rule is - If caught jumping a start by the starter, he can send you back and call back a start. Since, as you say, Schatz jumped. but didn't get caught by Doug Clark, it was not enforced by the starter.

So, technically, it was not a jump.......Kind of like driving 65 mph in a 55 mph zone; if no cop sees you doing it, how can it be against the law? You gotta get caught.....

Just a hail mary in hopes of Schatz having done something wrong.

Adding $6 trillion of debt in his 1st term and now if
elected again he wouldn't have to worry about an
electorate in 2016 so the sky is the limit. And his EPA
would continue to put the screws to oil drilling and
mining for coal. Can you say bankruptcy.

I can agree with sprinter25 and A time and a place (thanks for intelligent discussion) but you jeff24 take your childish comments somewhere else please. By the way jeff24 I don't mind Schatz or any other driver out there. I go because I love the sport. Schatz was the one to watch because he started 20th. It's fun to watch those guys that you know will work their way through the field.

My thoughts on the starts are that once the 2 cars on the front row hit the line and the green comes out, the race is on. I don't feel all the cars need to wait to hit the line to go. If your in the back, as long as you are not out of line before those 2 cars hit the line and the green comes out, your ok.

Looking at the video on Knoxville's web site I'm not sure Schatz was the one jumping the start from the back. Looked to me like someone took two rows of cars on the inside starting in turn 3 and it became a jumbled mess by the time the back rows got to the chalk so Schatz went around the outside of everyone.

But I don't really see him passing rows of cars before the actual start like the car on the inside did.
