Will johnny be calling any action online anywhere? I know he usually covers the PA at the track for the nationals but he is the best in the business when calling sprint car races so i didnt know if he can be found in his broadcast online for the nationals.

There's no dirtvision coverage so I'd say the answer is no, the Hoseheads radio guys do a great job anyway, I'm looking forward to it.

Maybe Johnny needs a few nights off to be a fan; after all, he works over 80 races a year. And I think he goes to Australia, or does the Chili Bowl....
And if his deal with the WoO restricts his participation at the Nationals, so what? You don't see any NFL players joining up with the Professional Baseball leagues, do you? It may be a contract that he's agreed to....or his allegiance to the WoO, which has employed him for a bunch of years.
And if the WoO's rules are so restrictive, then why are all of the WoO teams racing at Knoxville?
Because the WoO knows that their teams would all be there, anyway.....
Man, sometimes you WoO haters complain about everything.............

i find it hard to listen to the 2 guys during Nationals. i think it was last year they kept rambling on about nothing after the green flag was waved on a heat race. I've heard worse yes but they need to realize we are all listening to the RACE not their comedy show.

Name some current, please...
Most contracts tend to prohibit that kind of deal......Other than Bo Jackson 20 years ago, I can't think of any.....

A player I once watched in Cincinnati named Deion Sanders was a pretty good two sport athlete and Tony Gonzalez could have played anywhere in the NBA. There have been dozens of College two-sport athletes who could have done both as well but choose one, usually baseball due to it's longevity. Anyone old enough to remember Chuck Connors aka The Rifleman, he was another. Take It Easy...

I can't think of any current players, but as MSPN mentioned, Sanders played in both leagues simultaniously for several years. Another player, who's name escapes me at the moment, played the outfield for the St. Louis Cardinals and played safety for the Seatle Seahawks. This was within the last decade. I can look up his name and post his stats if you'd like.

There was also Brian Jordan who played outfield for the Atlanta Braves and football with the Falcons as well if I recall. What this has to do with Johnny Gibson is beyond me but I am sure one of you will find a connection somehow.

Hopefully Jounny Gibson won't start announcing both the World of Outlaws and NASCAR. Poor DW would be put out of a job.

That's the player that I had in mind. He changed teams a few times.
The reason this was brought up was because of an assinine statement made about contracts. It has nothing to do with Johnny, it has everything to do with perception or a lack there of.

Actually, I find the '2 guys' rather amusing - of course I never take myself serious, either. Here's a suggestions, why don't you listen to the '2 guys' on mute. That way the irritation they provide you will be kept at a miniumum, you can go to bed - you and the Mr. can get a good night's sleep and read the results tomorrow morning.

Lonnie Wright played for the Denver Broncos and the Denver NBA team of the early '70's.
Bud Grant played both pro football and basketball way back when.
