i know everyone is pumped up for the Schatz race but there was a few things i wanted to talk about from I-55. first off. I wasn't real excited about going to just a couple of weeks ago when Dollansky broke into victory lane and he did no disappoint at all down there. He was fast all night Friday. and i will admit when he got passed i thought it was over because Schatz pulled away but i wrong. Dollansky kept after it and got him back (by going 3 wide with the 15 and 7s a couple of times). And then there was Sides. finished 2nd after a hellava charge. This guy needs a big sponsor already.

Saturday was the hottest day of the damn year. after spending all afternoon at Six Flags i was a little tired but ready for some racing. Dollansky almost missed the inversion which i thought would make for a boring night but we lucked out. nobody knew what to expect with 55 laps on the high banks but i was surprised it wasn't a crash fest. Everyone of those drivers did a great job by not tearing anything up. And i'm not a big fan but kudos to lasoski on his big charge Saturday night. i don't know how he made it through the war between Stevie Smith, Meyers, and i think Wildchild and even Sides. those 4 were putting on one hellava show.

For anyone who is wondering how the track held up.....it was fine. the race for 5th for so many laps in lap traffic was AWESOME!! some of the best in the business were racing their asses off. Yes they reworked the track but it was worth the wait. I can't wait for the ironman 2.

That is an awesome track to watch races, but the time we went, you really needed a helmet to sit where we were sitting. Got there a little late and didn't get the best seats, but it was a great show.

It sounded like a great racing weekend. They should consider moving the date. The race went up against the Knoxville 360's nationals and 410 weekly show. Moving the date may provide another 10 to 20 cars. Knoxville had 42 410's and a ton of 360's last weekend.

I think that next years date is Aug 5 & 6. I drove up from Memphis for my first trip ever to I-55 and loved every minute of it (except the reworking of the track) . It reminded me of my first trip to Bristol, high banks and lots of speed.
