I thought I would start a thread for the Grand Slam race updates. Depending on my cell coverage I will attempt to keep updating all night. I am leaving my house for the 5 minute drive to the track at at about 5:00pm. This should be one hell of a show!

Well hotlaps were completed about 20mins ago and so far I counted 31 cars present. Some very notable absences from the West Coast 360 ranks. I have not seen Murphy, Hamblin, VanDerWeerds etc. Anybody know what's up with that? Something about rules or what? Those drivers don't miss races at SMS.

Heat 4: Hendrix. B Main: D. Pombo. A Main: Alexander, Faria, Hendrix, Wakim, Ennis. After winning the first heat, Henry flipped hard on lap 23 of the A Main. Kierce was rear-ended (very hard) on lap 6 of the A Main. He climbed out of the car. Alexander led wire to wire. Faria came through field from 11th s/p. Ford was on the move early but was wheel-banged and began to slip back. Kruser was moving up in the last ten laps, as was D. Pombo.

raj,

Krusers motor didn't last. Think he wasn't in the last ten laps. The 41k of Tyler Edwards finished 6th.

ch_flash:

Thus, you're saying Edwards actually =was= in the 41K and not Cory. That's where I got confused. =Tyler= ran quite well toward the end then.

Cory was in the 21k. Tyler has been using the 41k. I usually help on Tylers car, but I was helping with the other rookies, 0k, 96k. Never did get them loose enough for that tacky track. Tyler really liked it though. A couple of errors getting into turn 3 cost him some spots, but he did good for his first time at SMS.

That's true. Congrats to Greg and the whole 75 team on a great race. Faria(who I think was the fastest car out there) had his eyes on the prize but didn't have enough laps to catch him. Nice to see Hendrix and Wakum do good also.

Now I'm smiling. Dang it.

I had fun. Got to see my idol, Robby Sawyer, race his modified. That race was a blast to watch. A whole lot of craziness, but fun.

The Grand Slam race was a barn burner. If there were no yellows(or red), G. Alexander probably would have been done and in the pits drinking a beer before anyone knew the race was over. lol. I didn't see Johnathon Henry's crash, but he looked OK walking to the pits. He is fast everywhere I've seen him race. Good people too. Too bad for Kierce, getting run over, breaking and riding the wall. He is far enough ahead in VRA points that this weeks disappointment is nothing to worry about.

Congrats to D. Pombo on the VRA/West Coast Sprints Grand Slam Championship.

OK, got the love fest out of the way. Time to whine. Need water in the pits, Chris.
