Does anyone have an idea of how many cars are going to be running through out the week? I am going to make the race at Creek and try to make the okc race also. Just curious since I am looking forward to some non-wing action.

I have heard that Daron Clayton, who put on quite a show at Creek last year, will probably not be here this time. He is running a winged car with the All-Stars.

Heck they could have twenty-eight cars to make it four - seven car heat races it is all good with me. Hell it is non-winged sprint cars, that is all that I need.

they could have 2 cars running 8 lap match races all night and i'm in,,, the best race i've ever watched was a non wing at eldora in 1990, Kinser won,,plus a $10,0000 bonus for being a "winged driver". Mcspadden cried all the way back to Arizona

Don't forget that after the heats, they run qualifiers. It's like seeing double heats then the features. 5CAN's remark about paying fifteen to watch a sprint car sit still is the best thing I've read in a long time. I totally agree.

With the low car counts, Lanny could run large heats and qualifiers then an A feature in all classes making B features a thing of the past. How's that sound?

It's kind of pathetic that I'm 50 now and still look forward to Friday night races like it was my 5-year-old birthday party.

I feel ya 5can. My parents took me when I was about 2 weeks old. Went to my first dirt track race when I was about 4 or 5 and fell in love with it. Dad was a drag racer. I thought he was the coolest thing next to a bowl of ice cream.

Cut my teeth at little dirt tracks in Chanute, Humboldt and Caney, Kansas, watching super and junior modifieds, both sprint car forerunners in this part of the country. Anyone else remember the junior modifieds??? Of course, we threw in Dewey, Tulsa and Wichita, too. Those were the days. I heard that all you can see now of Dewey is part of the front-stretch retaining wall sticking out of a pasture. If I witnessed that first hand, I'd probably need a Kleenex.
