I was told that they were trying to get the OKC boys here to run it!!!

I just wish they would make it a southern sportmod show...

If you wanna see a bad ass car count, do this show with the sportmods!!!

Plain and simple

run it under the USMTS format but still do it as a 3 day show and use TEXAS RESTARTS for this forces the guys to race and puts on one heck of a show for the fans!!!

I am willing to bet that it wouldnt be hard to gain good sponsors for the show....

Look at the Fall Nationals for modifieds, they give out fuel for long hauler, they offer provisionals, motel discounts, give out door prizes from sponsors and they keep the track racey(even if it means to turn it and repack in between races). Im so sure that this could be one of the biggest shows that Oklahoma has ever had... It would take alot of work but it would be a huge payoff for the track and the city (if done correctly)!!!

This is all about getting everyone involved, the track, drivers, city and county officials, and lots of sponsors!!!!

NCRA uses the Texas restarts up until five laps to go or if the track surface allows it. You need to pay something all three days for the racers. Make two qualifying nights a decent payout but not alot and then hit the final day with your big payout. The winner or top two from the first two nights would be locked into the first two rows of the feature finale and a six lap, six car trophy dash on the final night would line up the first three rows of the finale. The other two cars added to the trophy dash would be the top two passing point guys from Saturday nights heat races.

Problem with a sport mod show is that anything north of Oklahoma you won't get. It will be all Amarillo, OKC south. There were worries that the local cars at Caney for the last NCRA show would be too tough for the NCRA sport modifieds but our guys more or less out ran them. But I feel that was because the track was a quarter mile and tough racing. Enid, I think, would be different as it is a huge three-eighths where the more powerfull "B" mods or northern sport mods could have a decisive advantage.

Just my opinion.

i dont believe that the b mods would have more of a advatange cus when enid first started sport mods they let the b mods come run the winter nationals and they still didnt out run the sport mods everyone also wants just to c the sport mods enid needs to give a big show for different classes not just them

so i can 3 link my modified and move the motor forward and i would be legal? it just seems like between the aluminum heads quickchanges and tube chassis it would kill the car count,... jmo...

i spoke with lonnie Colville this morning about the aluminum heads and quick changes...

The heads that are being allowed are the spec heads that the OKC boys run on thier prostocks and that is the same reason with the quick change rearend. It will allow the OKC prostocks to run here legally. I really dont see this as an advantage, did anyone see jason hughes win both nights a couple of weeks ago? He was using steel heads... This is the STREETSTOCK NATIONALS and its truly about getting as many cars from across the whole nation as possible and I hope it all works for them!!!

Im sure he was not the only one. It was run under the USMTS rules.

their is no advantage to having a quick change besides how easy it is to change gears i recently added a quick change to my modified this year and it has not helped the handling or perfomance of my ride just the easy of changing the gears and for the alum heads usmts spec head i have heard that u can make more power out of a steel than u can with the usmts spec head not a 100% on the head part but what i have understood. I have never had alum heads on any of my motors but when i have ran aginst them i never had any problems getting around them. u can take any steel or 9inch and out run them. Its all about the drivers smoothness and handling of his or her ride!

ps its cheaper to run a quick change by the time u buy 2or3 9inch gears u have about the same money tied up in a 9inch set up and u know as well as i do if u run at more than one track u going to need some gears and also the part are resenable and easy to fix even if ur at the track u can replace a bent axel tube or anything for that fact
