Randy Hannagan (15th car out to time) set quick time on the high-banked 1/3 mile at 10.703 seconds. Brandon Wimmer (14th car out) was second quick, followed by Terry McCarl (12th), Greg Wilson (4th), David Gravel (11th), Tim Kaeding (10th), Tim Shaffer (18th), Daron Clayton (16th), Shane Stewart (8th) and Tony Bruce Jr. (13th).

8-lap heats were rather insignificant, other than you had to finish to make the first five rows to start the feature. Kennedy dropped out early as Maeschen took the lead. On lap three, Herrera jumped the turn one cushion, and flipped into the fence. Repairs were made in time for the feature. The best race was between Hannagan and Wilson for fourth.

Brazier led flag to flag. Gravel provided the only real fireworks when he jumped the cushion in turn one and got off all fours. He was able to save it and continue.

Wright stopped before the start to get a second push and start at the rear. He wanted to stay out of trouble in back. Kaeding circled the front row and pulled away for the win. Hafertepe and T. McCarl contacted before a lap could be completed, flattening the left rear on the 24. No tire repairs are allowed in the heats.

Gravel led flag to flag using the high side. The dash means nothing as far as starting order in the feature.
A main (started): 1. Hannagan (5) 2. Wilson (3) 3. Bruce Jr. (9) 4. Wimmer (2) 5. Wright (16) 6. Madsen (10) 7. T. McCarl (11) 8. Herrera (13) 9. Stewart (8) 10. Kaeding (6) 11. Gravel (4) 12. Shaffer led early in the 30-lapper before Reed tangled with Brazier on lap two, and both flipped down the front straight. Though Brazier tried to injure Reed after out of the car, both were unhurt. Shaffer led Wilson, Wimmer, Gravel and Kaeding back to green flag racing. Shaffer continued to pull away until a lap six slowdown for a stopped Bunton, who rejoined the field. The top five remained unchanged. Shaffer dominated the next several laps with Wilson in second, and Wimmer and Hannagan battling for third. Kaeding entered the race for the top three and made contact with Wimmer around lap 15. Wimmer was able to save the car, but fell back to seventh. Shaffer had almost a half a lap lead and was lapping cars in the top ten when he tangled with Gravel on lap 21 and turned over. He was unhurt but done. The incident collected Hafertepe, and he retired as well. Wilson assumed the lead ahead of Hannagan, Kaeding, Bruce Jr. and McCarl with nine to go. Four laps later, Hannagan charged by Wilson for the point, while Bruce worked by Kaeding for third. T. McCarl was on the move and tried to get by Kaeding for two laps before the two tangled in turn two and did simultaneous 360 spins and kept them going, losing several spots. Hannagan held on for the win, but Wright was a late mover in typical fashion and took home hard-charger honors.
