That's not going to be a good move Chris.

I don't think theres anyway I can make it on a Friday and if we can't make that show we might as well forget about chasing the NCRA deal and just stay close to home.

Why would they change the schedule so late now?

Mark

I heard it was because some of the racers was wanting to go race that 3000 to win show at texarkana.

I dont know if thats true or not but if it is, then its a good choice. Gives the guys an opportunity to still make that big show.

Dont forget about the show at Enid July 24th and 25th 1500 to win on each night.

Good luck to everyone

That was not the reason for the schedule change on that date as none of our guys would be racing down there anyways. This was promoters choice and the limited modifieds are off that night at OKC.

Don't forget that the NCRA sport modifieds will be at the Annual Hutchinson Nationals on Saturday night, July 25th. Race time is at 7:30 PM for the NCRA southern sport modifieds.

Just talked to Chris and he informed the promoter felt, out of consideration for the fans and drivers, that Friday night would be good. This way he can get a crowd from other tracks and those drivers who want to can go race at the track of their choice on Saturday night - whether it is Amarillo, Lawton, Meeker or Enid.

There is no other sport modified show anywhere near the area on this night.

If you feel you might be a little late for draw you are always welcome to call Chris or myself and you know we will take care of you.

thats not very thoughtful to the racers and fans, like myself its a 3 hour drive ,and have to schedule time off work to go on friday now , where saturday alot of people are off, could have at least had a longer notice , the promotor knew everyones schedule when he scheduled it , so why so late now changing , like i said he all the info you said was the reason to change it months ago , so why now, not good for the new series starting up

I have spoke to a few of the guys that are in the top ten in points and all of them have told me (not rumor here) that they wanted to go to the texarkana show. Not many times this class gets a chance to race for big amounts like this, why wouldnt you encourage them too......

so in other words if your a promotor and want to have a big show ,the hell with the NCRA they will reschedule, so just schedule on top of them ,because some promotors will do that

i know enid looks at schedules before they do a show and sometimes you just end up scheduling on top of someone. A good example of this would be the sportmod and modified show at enid on the 24th and 25th of this month. A few of the NCRA guys didnt like it but they understood.... plus how often does a sportmod race for 1500 to win? Not very often, so it looks to be an attractive show. I know some boys that are bringing their toys from texas, it wont be easy for anyone at this show...

i totally agree with you 169 ,why did enid feel like they needed to do it the same time as the hutch nationals that has ncra shows at it every year and there date is this same time every year, something is happening in enid , first they didnt want to be part of the okla ncra series , then they turn and schedule a race on top of them,, so WHATS UP WITH THAT

The race August 1st is at Texarkana's 67 Speedway and not Ark-la-tex. We were going to run this show until we seen that they are allowing the new soft American Racer and the new soft Hoosier 500 tires plus you have to be topless. Didn't want to go topless and didn't want to buy 4 new tires that we couldn't run around here

What's the scoop on these new tires, how do you recognize them, what are they called, where can you get them, how much difference is there in them?

the american racers have been around all year and are the rule tire for the ump sportmods, if you raced at the texas world dirt championships this feb. you would remember both tires were used there. The newest tire is the softer hoosier 500 which will have a identity number on it also, its quite similar to the AR 500.

anyways, goodluck to all, no matter where you decide to race at

I thought this was an interesting statement....about entering the texarkana show...

"Three-time $10,000-to-win Oklahoma Street Stock Nationals Champion and current NCRA Southern Sportmod point leader, Chad McNamara, will be racing at this event as well. He is out of Blackwell, OK."

dont want to stir the pot here, why would anyone think that any of these gentlemen didnt want to go race down there. Its the same rules as here, except tires and almost anyone who raced at TMS in Feb. bought a set of the AR 500 ....

it was interesting to me because Mr. David Smith Jr had stated that none of the NCRA guys would be running down there(speaking of texarkana) Why he would think that, I dont know... Its the same rules for the cars, different tires are allowed but most of the guys have a set of the AR500 because of the Feb. race at Texas Motor Speedway. Im sure anyone running up front of the NCRA SERIES can compete anywhere that is under the same set of rules. So I hope the big money races keep coming up!!!!!
