Hockett is following the ASCS National Tour and they race in Elma this weekend and Cottage Grove the following weekend. To his credit, Hockett runs as much as possible, and since he'll be in the area for the ASCS National shows, why not run the ASCS regional shows? Kevin Eckert even wrote in his latest blog about Hockett: "Yes, it is now official; USAC has lost another shooting star."

Has Hockett even run a non-wing event this year?

Hockett was in the top three or four in USAC points just a week or two ago. A recent series of asphalt races may have contributed to his switching series. And the previous poster is right - USAC has apparently lost a rising star to the winger set.
