This is going to be a two night show with Sprints and mini Sprints on Friday, and Sprints, late Models, mini Sprints and Vintage cars on Saturday. There is no Sprint Car racing at Canyon or USA that weekend, and with the open rules, we should get a good turn out. You can follow it at... http://www.abcmotorsports.com/index.htm

I live in Prescott and the weather is great up here this time of year, and there's lot's of things to see as well..http://visit-prescott.com/

It's not Manzy, but It's a racy little track. Chad and Billy Boat were up here when Chad was coming up in a Mini Sprint and I've also seen Bobby Marcum and some of the other guy's put on a good shows in Sprinters. I'm really looking forward to it.

July 17-18 Weight Rule has changed for the aluminum 410's it was 1600 lb.
now it is 1500 lb. that means when you get weighed after the race and you weigh 1499 lbs you will be DQ.!!!!! When I started talking about doing this race I ask
what the weight rule was for the Roger McCluskey race in Tucson I was told that it was 1575 lbs, so that is how I came you with 1600 lbs. Now I find out that it is only 1475 lbs. so it will be 1500 lbs, with a driver. Some of the 410's would have to bolt on 200 lbs. If that came lose someone could get hurt.
If you have any questions contact Bugs 928-925-9858 if I don't answer leave a message and I will call you back.

Thank You Bugs Norbury
p.s.Bobby Marcum ran a 410 in Prescott Valley and a Challenge Cup Sprint Car
Bet him. I don't thank that weight is going to a issue

Tom,

23 cars Friday,

25 cars Saturday

Friday Andy Rienbold won

Saturday RJ Johnson won

Track was so so Friday

Saturday was a half throttle, follow the leader dust/sand bowl

Bugs Norbury put on a great show and the track conditions were out of his control. They did not rip the track the whole time we where there, just added water and then rolled it in with a 30 ton backhoe.

But they did have their version of the Ascot lake inside turns 1 and 2 ( minus the ducks) it claimed about 5 cars over the weekend.

Overall it was a good two day show with alot of great people.

Again http://www.abcmotorsports.com/index.htm .

It was a big success with a big crowd Friday, and a packed house on Saturday, with 23 cars and 25 respectably. It was nice just driving a few miles to the track for a change. There were a lot of my friends from down in Phoenix who came up for the show, and a few from Tuscon as well. They all said they would come back for another one. We had a few showers early Friday, and the evenings were beautiful and cool, except for a little wind Saturday that died down later on. The late models were OK, and the mini sprints put on a clean fast show. Billy Shuman had his # 84 Sprinter out with the other Vintage car's, but a Midget, about a 46 with a Offy in it stole the show. It sounded great!!

The track was good Friday, but it slicked up Saturday. As expected horsepower was not a big factor, but patience was. Jeremy Sherman seemed to have ran out of it toward the end of the race Saturday night, and took himself and Nathan High out. They had been running 3rd and 4th.. There were others involved, but can't remember who, or if they restarted at the back. I think maybe a few people were more than just a little annoyed about it.

Stevie Sussex had a good run's both Friday and Saturday, and he showed a lot of maturity and patience. He wasn't doing his Robert Balou imitation, LOL and it paid off both nights.

I had some friends who camped out at the track over the weekend, and they worked on the track most of the night Friday after that show. They bladed the track during intermission Friday, but it was just the Sprints and the mini sprints for that show, and they had the time... The dust early on in the Saturday main was blowing away from the stands, so it wasn't't a problem for us, and when it slicked off early, most of it went away.

I'd forgotten about this move that Gayle Allen caught of Stevie Sussex Jr at Prescott valley. Stevie did try at least a few Robert Balou moves.LOL You can see more pictures at http://www.abcmotorsports.com/index.htm
