Roger Arndt is the guy you want to talk to. He's from Des Moines. He took video at Knoxville through the 80's and 90's. I have the copy of the Saturday 1985 Nationals from him. Max Dumesney beat Wolfie in the Race of States in 1985, great race. Wish that event was still on the Friday night program.

Not sure how to get a hold of Roger. He used to have a website for his videos but I can't find it now. Someone at the track or the Hall of Fame might now how to get a hold of him.

That was one heck of a race! I think Max drove the bus back home to Australia about 3 am that night.
My VHS copy was purchased from Jerry Clum video. It was bought 22 years ago so I do not have any contact info for him, but maybe the Hall of Fame can help you out? I sort of remember having to order it from Ohio, but nothing else is clicking in the brain right now.

I actually need it for Max as he is celerbrating his 50th Birthday, he rates that race win as his all time favorite feature win.....
Is there anyway of you guys copying it to DVD?

I have no idea what the quality is. I do remember it was a one camera shoot from on top of the grandstands near the press box. I'll get a VCR hooked up over the weekend and see what it looks like. I might even try to figure out how to hook it up to the computer and record it as something I can put on YouTube, but that might take a little longer than the weekend to figure out.
