Not good. Not good. And let's add, not good. The track was a freakin' MESS. If they are seriously planning to have the Outlaws there next year, they'd better hire someone who knows how to prep an effing dirt track.

any results or other relitive info other than just complaining? not to say complaining may be out of order, just asking for more than that.

The winged class started with about 13 cars and I think 7 or so started the main. On a positive note Guitierez drove a great race to win the main. He won over Ricky Wright and the 7v car. Good racing in the Bandit main with Johnathan Logan passing Peter Murphy to win the main comming to the white flag. Dont recall who won the 2 car spec main. Hate to b@tch / bash these guys in their first year running a dirt track- you can tell they're trying, BUT, I stand by my statements that last night was a cluster. There may be some who disagree and good for them I hope they had better time than I did.

I was a little down about last nights track. It is my hometown track, and I would love to see it take off. It was definitly not their best effort on the track prep. I heard that the track prep staff from another track will be preping it for the next race. The staff is well aware that it was not good last night.

There were several cars in the pits that elected not to run. I decided to run as hard as I could given the conditions. I did not want to tear up my stuff. I still almost had a disaster. Car botttomed out hard repeatedly almost tearing oil lines off the right side of the oilpan. Thank God I didn't lose the motor!

I too really hope they get it right! I know they are trying. They work hard (promoters) and they pay good (cash). I will see what it looks like next time.

I left after the late model dash, and if I hadn't been sponsoring that race I would have been gone before the heats even started. Thats all that I'm going to say.

well before this spins into a bash chowchilla post here goes my thoughts.

the good

1.rick wright putting this series together so we can have shows to run there.

2.a promoter who didnt wanna just sit on a shitty track surface and dealt with the expense of getting dirt trucked in and the labor to lay it in.

3.the idea of from last nights surface it can only get better.

4.the idealism that it can only get better from here.

the bad

1.hauling in that much dirt and trying to apply it too deep with no compaction,so that when you get it wet and it starts to sink the trucks and graders you end up with beirut car bomb looking straights.

2.waiting until race day to try and fix above problem.

3.making the people in the stands sit thru long delays will the sheepfoot goes around and around trying to fix track.

4.the guy riding the grader not knowing when enough is enough,it seemed as if he was paid by the hour and wanted to get overtime.

5.going to a pit meeting knowing the problem and only solution, but yet that decision was made after the meeeting so the rest of night was confusion.

6.starting rookies on the front row of any event is asking for trouble and it almost happen last night.

7.making the decison to cut main event to 20 laps and not letting everyone know it over the P.A. system (official told rick wright and he was supposed to tell all the others, sorry thats not ricks job so the blame there goes directly on the pit personel)

in closing if chowchilla would like help with track prep before next wright one series race let rick know as he knows my number or you may contacts me at [email protected]

Moose, I'm not going to bash the track or the people there. I applaud the effort that Kenny and his staff made to try and have a raceable surface. But once it went bad, it was never coming back.

Believe it or not I am a fan of Kenny Shephard. He has done great things at Madera and eventually I expect the same at Chow... I am hoping he'll pull in someone with dirt track prep soon to resolve the issues we saw last night. Mike
